It's going to be a fun ride.

I didn't understand when/where the first scene took place. In season 1, Walt turns 50. In this opening scene he is 52. I have no idea how much time passed between the seasons.

Well one thing is for sure Walter is getting cocky which will get him caught. Not in a bad way, I think it's great. I don't think this show will end with a happy ending. Great episode as usual though.

I think the opening scene is similar to the opening scene in season 2 when they foreshadowed the plane crash. If they follow the same pattern every couple of episodes they will show a little bit more and then eventually tie it all together at the end.

Yeah, it was definitely a flash forward. They showed that he still had a ton of money, slipping the $100 under the plate for the waitress. He's got hair...so again, well into the future.

I'm interested to see what his plans are for what he had in that trunk, lol.

I believe the first 4 seasons were supposed to have taken place over about a year, so that scene is about a year into the future.

I would not be surprised to see this scene again at some point during the 2nd half of this season (next summer)

Solid opener last night. Mike was great. He, Jesse, and Walt are a pretty good threesome. Hank is not giving up, and finding that routing/banking number in the Caymans should give them some good leads to go on. Like you said, it's going to be a fun ride.

Really? I always hated Ted. I mean, he didn't respect Skylar asking him to stop. He didn't deserve this, but he deserved something pretty bad to happen to him.

I agree completely. Mike is awesome.

"Keys, this is the universal sign for keys"

My theory about the first scene is that that it may be the end of the series with Walt running away. I don't see a happy ending here with Walt out of the business and not getting caught. I believe he will be caught or be on the run, or die of cancer. Either way this finale might be pretty heart wrenching. I can't wait. I have the utter most confidence in the writers on this show.

Wow...Tio Saltalmaca was nominated? That's awesome.

I was out of town this week so just caught up on the episode. The beginning was very interesting and shows that things will not end up good for Walt.

Season 4 is up on netflix now. I'll have to re watch the end of the season because I have no recollection of Hank regaining the ability to walk. Last I remember, Walt crashed his Aztec with Hank in it instead of turning in to the laundry.

I believe he walked into his meeting at the police station with Tio in the finale last year.

    Re: Breaking Bad (Season 5)

It's amazing how this show continues to captivate. Every season, every episode. It really is a shame it's coming to an end soon. But damn are they going to go out on top.

Any theories as to what the opening scene in the first episode was about? Maybe I'm stating the obvious but Walter on the run seems to be the easiest answer and sometimes that's the case. In season 2 when they kept showing the pool and the doll I sort of thought about the easiest conclusion with that and wound up being basically right about it.
