Re: 2012 John Sterling Performance Thread
I never really considered how his partner would affect him. He was still a weenie when Steiner was beside him too. I didn't get to hear Nelson so I can't comment on that though.

I'm so glad I'm back home watching tv. The way Sterling called that pop up I was about to flip out in my car but then it was nothing. Maybe I just wanted it so bad that second of excitement pissed me off but still at first it was like he did it.

How was Sterling when ARod flew out to Ellsbury in the 11th?
Michael Kay got a bit excited and it was fairly obvious that Ellsbury had it all the way.

I read through the thread but didn't find any references to either Sterling or Kay.

ESPN had Chris Berman doing Reds-Giants on radio
Not because Berman unleashed his shtick. No, the deficiency (that’s being kind) was more fundamental. Berman did not provide a radio call. He did not paint the word picture. Berman made John (Pa Pinstripe) Sterling look like Rembrandt.

On game 5, my son had a baseball game Friday nite,I brought a radio down to listen. Jawn had everyone screaming when he totally blew Ichiros hit off the wall. One of the other fathers reminded me that 98.7 was also broadcasting the game, so we switched over.

I was at the game, but my brother sent me this text: "Sterling keeps repeating that the ball up the middle hit Fister 'inadvertently.'"

It is always amusing to see plays called by three sets of announcers.

Sterling really botched things in the 12th as he thought Ichiro misplayed the ball instead of Swisher.

Re: 2012 John Sterling Performance Thread
Sterling just said that he can't see the ball in Comerica because the sun is so bright. He didn't explain why he can't see the ball anywhere else, either.
