I would guess that he replaces Freddy with the Mitchell call up.

I think Mitchell is up just because Phelps and Eppley both pitched 3 innings yesterday, and we all know what's going to happen when Phil Hughes takes the mound on Tuesday....

Mitchell likely got called up because they know they can't use Phelps in LR since he's now a starter, and the last few days have been too soon to bring back Freddy in LR. I highly doubt they're going to eat Garcia's $4M before the calendar even hits May. They'll send him to the pen to try to straighten him out if that's at all possible. When Gardner gets back at the end of the week I'd lay odds Mitchell is the one to go.
