Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
The Yankees should approach him about an extension.

Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
The amount of elite hitters currently sucking balls is quite amusing.

Well at least he's better than Pujols. He has one HR.

Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
Looks like he could not care less to be in the batter's box at this point.

Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
With how badly Cano has been sucking, I am surprised this thread is only 1.5 pages long.

Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
I think it's very telling actually.
When people pile on players like Tex, A-Rod, or even Jeter when he struggled, it's because on some level they think the player is in a permanent state of not being good any more. People used to pile on Cano before he'd established himself because on some level they thought he was in a permanent state of not being able to live up to his potential.
The silence here probably means people think he'll just snap out of it one day, hopefully soon."Baseball is about hope, not confidence." -- rajah

Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
Maybe because he's not yet being paid Arod or Tex money, with long term deals like they have.

He offers so little to complainers. You can't complain about his age, salary, development, or who we traded for him.

Single-handedly killed that rally....That pitch was at least 8" off the plate.

Didn't Cano work out with Nunez this offseason?
It all makes sense now.

Doubled his HR and RBI totals with 1 swing.

Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
He doesn't seem to be concerned - which is what you would expect from Cano:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/07/sp...r=1&ref=sports
Cano, whose average dropped to .255 after a 1-for-4 showing Saturday, said he refused to be frustrated. He said he had had worse struggles, pointing to the 2008 season, when he hit .271, and said he was confident he would break out in time. With one swing 14 hours later, Cano matched his home run and R.B.I. totals for the season.
“I was even worse in ’08,” he said, “And I came back and hit .270. At this point I was at like .150 and .160. In this situation, I’ve been hitting the ball good, just right at people.”September 28, 2008 - the day the HOF got a wake-up Moose call.

Re: 2012 Robinson Cano performance thread
Im surprised nobody has commented on the Cano thread after tonight's performance.....anyways loved what I saw from Robbie.....you could see it coming with the mini hit streak but I hope this turns into an all out assault on the leagues pitching.
