Hopefully he can figure it out. It sucks to see his command issues of last season are still a big problem.

Has he ever gone a season without being on the DL?
40 pitchers, ever, have an ERA+ of 130 or higher for their career. 15 have 140 or higher. 3 guys have 150 or higher - one is right at 150, the second place guy is at 154, and Mariano Rivera is at 205.

    BA prospect hot sheet -
The Scoop: The RiverDogs have jumped out to an early lead in the South Atlantic League team ERA race thanks in large part to Campos, who has held opponents to one hit and one (unearned) run through 11 innings. With just three walks issued, his WHIP stands at a minuscule 0.36. In other words, Campos has started his Yankees career in sharp contrast with Michael Pineda, the other pitcher New York received from the Mariners for Jesus Montero.

According to GM Brian Cashman, he will miss one start due to a latissimus muscle issue in his back.

That could explain his lack of command. Hope he only misses a start or 2.

Mitchell was so-so today. Jose Ramirez goes tonight for Tampa. Bryan Mitchell goes for Charleston.

Seriously. He has one career minor league start. Is he being converted to a starter? Lord knows the other 5 aren't doing their. I have to say this AAA squad is the least interesting crew I have seen in over 5 years. Laird is the only hitter that's not a former ML or AAAA guy.

Tyler Austin is just smashing everything so far, 8 hits this young season and 7 for XBH

Culver had 3 hits. Hopefully the start of something.

Don't know, but he only threw 38 pitches in those four innings.

I think he is deff a AAAA guy, but I guess he's too young for me to say that definitively.

Re: April 2012 Minor League Thread

Austin double, M.Williams triple, Bichette, 1-1, BB, RBI, Gamel 2 RBI......only thru the 2nd.

Of course Scottie Allen is pitching, so all of these runs will be completely necessary.

It won't be. He will never amount to anything useful.

He was solely a pick based on the fact he was willing to sign with the team for slot.

Re: April 2012 Minor League Thread

    OK.

On a positive note, Austin was 4-4 w/2 2B's. He was 0-4 in the first game and is 12-24 since, 9 XBH's.

Mason "the Dixon" Williams 2-4 so far with a double and tripple bagger. He's really showing making those aggressive rankings proud. Don't know how he's looked in the field.

Austin did some more damage today with a 3-run homer in the top of the 9th inning to put the Riverdogs ahead for good. He also had a single and BB today.

Re: April 2012 Minor League Thread

I found this MiLB article about Austin today. It's through Saturday's game so expect him to be noted in both BA and other baseball publications soon about his recent work with the bat. He was back in RF today.

Looks like it was a 3run shot down by 1 run in the ninth with 2 outs.
