The Nats treated Mr. Dickey very rudely last night - his first lost since April. On the other hand, Valdespin now has 5 pinch-hit HRS so far this season and 3 of them have been against the Nats. The next time he's in the on deck circle, I'm leaving the room.

Yeah, he only pitches well in low pressure situations, like game 2 of the World Series.

Burnett has been one of the most inconsistent pitchers in baseball over the last decade. Let's not try to ascribe psychological causes to that.

There was nothing about being in the Bronx that made Burnett pitch poorly.

he embodies the clichés of post-Yankee life. His face has stubble. A pair of fishing rods were propped up in his locker. He appreciates not being hounded constantly by fans about his performance. And he said he feels a levity, a lack of internal pressure, which he believes affected him in the Bronx. “It’s completely different,” he said. “I can go out there and do what I want, how I want, when I want to. If I want to turn around upside down, I can do it — as long as I throw a strike. It was always the pressure I put on myself to do so good. And now, I’m just out there, just doing it.”

Seeing AJ do well is wonderful. He always tried his best for us. And none of us can fault him for that. He did the right thing for his family by taking the money on a contract he should have never been offered. Glad to see he can enjoy pitching during some of that contract.

Agree snapple! I wish it worked out for him to stay in the Bronx....but he seems better off now.

I concur.........one of the few Blue Jays I pulled for. Funny how some guys can't perform on the big stage.........but he did well in 09 play offs........
