Ortiz leads off the 2nd with a double and gets stranded on third. Ross with the K to end the inning.

0-0 heading to the bottom of the 2nd. Both pitchers have allowed 1 hit and Lester's only thrown 5 pitches.

Back half of the Red Sox lineup is suprisingly weak.

The whole team -- lineup, rotation, bullpen -- lacks depth. I like to think of it as the gift of Carl Crawford

Detroit's gotten leadoff singles in all 3 innings so far, but they've done nothing else.

Betcha didn't know the last Red Sox SP to make it through six scoreless was Andrew Miller (in Texas last August).

Well, i guess Lester just changed that.

Good pitchers duel going in Detroit. I hope the Tigers can eke out a run or two soon.

Good duels in CitiField and Pittsburgh, too. And Strasburg-Dempster is off to a good start.

5 games in progress and a total of 3 runs scored so far. No team with more than 1 on the board. Impress start for pitchers today.

    1-0 Tigers heading bottom 8. Verlander's (probably) final line: 8 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 7 K

Time for the ever-annoying Papa Grande.

In other news, Halladay has a 2 hitter through 8.

And they turn it over to Papelbon for the 9th instead of letting Halladay go for the CG.

    Just got home from class.

Tigers take a 2-0 lead over Boston.

Papelbon has just came in for the Phillies. Philadelphia is up 1-0 against the Pirates in the bottom of the 9th.

It's opening day and I'm already sick of the ESPN announcers constant "little engine that could" praise for Pedroia, vomit inducing.
