Re: 2012 Justin Maxwell Performance Thread
Shame, would rather have on the team than Raul Ibanez.

Re: 2012 Justin Maxwell Performance Thread
Agreed, makes no sense. At this stage in his career, any player wants MLB playing time no matter who it's for. Worry about playing for a contender once you have established yourself as a major leaguer. If your current team stays terrible, and you turn out to be good, you will eventually get your chance to play for a better team.

Re: 2012 Justin Maxwell Performance Thread
Maxwell probably wishes he was picked up up by a semi decent team who'd give him playing time and not the Astros.

Welcome to NYYFans, the place where Yankees fans come together to complain about the manner in which our team is winning games.

Re: 2012 Justin Maxwell Performance Thread
Seriously a guy in his situation is looking for a regular job on world series or even playoff contender. If he was he wouldn't have much luck finding that role. Houston is a great situation for him as he's the primary backup to a weak OF that has two lefties. This is probably the best situation he could have realistically hoped for.
Best of luck to him.

Re: 2012 Justin Maxwell Performance Thread
Yeah, not really. Let's look at those two quotes again.
You said that playing in AAA for a good team was better than playing at the MLB level for the Astros. Making the very reasonable assumption that when the other poster said "playing time" he meant at the MLB level, he's not saying the same thing you are.
I think everyone would agree that MLB playing time for the Yankees or another contender would be preferable to MLB playing time for the Astros or another cellar-dweller. But that's not what you said."Baseball is about hope, not confidence." -- rajah

Re: 2012 Justin Maxwell Performance Thread
No pro baseball player from rookie to grizzled veteran would rather play on a AAA team then to play on a major league team irrelevant of how "bad" the major league team is considered.
It's not even close.
