I just saw the 2nd string players for tonight's Yankees ST game VS Boston and SS Carmen Angelini is listed. I thought he was released in 2011 after a handful of game and missing all of 2010. How is it that he's available for tonight's game?

Because he wasn't released and will most likely play for Tampa in the FSL this year.

A part of me was dissapointed with the Pettitte return because I'd like to see one of these guys get a shot when the Yankees need a starter at some point.

I'm sure other teams are watching too, though, and it won't be shocking if one of these guys gets dealt

Every part of me was disappointed with Pettitte's return. I love Andy for what he did but with the system as deep as it is, this was completely unnecessary. Now with Joba's injury, I will be livid if Hughes loses his spot to Pettitte just saw he can get into the rotation.

Yes that is a big assumption but it would not shock me.

I'm not sure that it's Hughes, and not Nova, that would be at risk. He did end his season on an injury and hasn't been that impressive this spring.

But probably for another thread.

Nova shouldn't be replaced either, assuming he isn't getting absolutely torched. They need to not hit the panic button if a young pitcher struggles. It'll be for the Yankees benefit if they let Nova do his thing at the ML level, & continue to learn how to get ML hitters out.

Besides, Pettitte is no lock to provide anything positive to the team. He should only get into the rotation if he earns it & someone else is bombing.
