Re: 2012 Andy Pettitte Performance Thread
It's nice to have a 7th starter but I'm not sure I understand this beyond Andy doesn't appear to be having as much fun with the wife and kids as he thought he would in retirement.

the rest is just details.

The odds are a starter or two gets hurt.
The odds are that Andy is one of them.Mo' Nut: One Smoove Brotha.

Re: 2012 Andy Pettitte Performance Thread
Command was alright I thought (at least mostly).
I saw a guy who made his first start of the year. As he got later in the game he lost a bit and wasn't finishing pitches.
Really, what hurt him was 2-3 cutters that were flat and hammered. Seemed to happen late and is normal for a guy making his first start.
I think he is going to be great. It was great to watch him pitch and work fast. You know they are not real pies, right?

Gotta hate the DH rule cause Andy does not get to BAT!!!
Thru 8

He'll never get another milestone like that one. So what? His whole career is a milestone.

I don't think we'll ever see this many old dudes playing at such a high level* for one team in one year.
*I'm gonna go ahead and assume Mo would have been Mo had it not been for the injury.

Re: 2012 Andy Pettitte Performance Thread
It seems that most of us just assumed that Pettitte would come back and be the same guy. And by "the same guy" I mean not just the guy he was earlier this season, but the guy he was two years ago.
It's amazing how he's living up to that assumption. This team is so much better with him on it."Baseball is about hope, not confidence." -- rajah
