Re: 2012 Roster Moves Thread
A sex change is a rather intricate procedure. You really have to think about all the other people that you would be affecting. Plus, you would have to change all your driver's licenses, health cards etc.... Is this something that you have been thinking about for a while or did you just have a bad bottle of wine?

Re: 2012 Roster Moves Thread

Okay, so I spoke with both asscoms and did research in drafts previous. It's unfortunate that the manuscripts of the draft have been deleted because it's near impossible to know why some things have been done. But in almost any season there are many moves immediately after the draft that are somewhat suspect. I can't prove them either way but I recall a scenario where at the end of the draft a few owners were granted the ability to draft a bs player and that player was swapped.
Here is what I'm going to do. You're going to get your player. However the only reason yu are is because you told me who you wanted and we discussed it DURING the draft. (which is really the tie breaker in my decision where I was 50-50 but I basically told you in the draft it was okay not to draft a C) A good point was brought up in conversation that if we set a precedent people could exploit this by drafters remorse and try to claim a player in order to bypass waivers.
So a new rule is being put in place.... if you decide to punt a position you need to declare it before the draft. The commissioner will make a note of it. Since we do have a minor league system that we can utilize and this is a keeper league I see no reason to enforce you having to waste a pick on a guy you could have really gotten value for because CBS doesn't recognize your minors as players.
So no, no on can swap out their last pick for Andy Pettitte!

Re: 2012 Roster Moves Thread
I think this is a sensible solution - you will know ahead of time if you want to punt a position, and CBS won't let you, so I endorse it.
Be seeing you,

Could you guys put AJ Burnett on the disabled list for me? He's expected to miss at least the first 8 weeks of the season.

Could one of you guys put Jorge De La Rosa on the DL for me? He's recovering from TJ surgery and won't be back until July.

Re: 2012 Roster Moves Thread
So I have 2 somewhat related questions:
1. Can a mL player be put on the DL?
2. If he can't and I cut him, can I demote a player take in the ML draft to the mL as long as he hasn't crossed the threshold and is in the minors in real life?
Thanks!

That's why I stayed away. As soon as I saw "shoulder" I didn't even want to look any more.

Re: 2012 Roster Moves Thread
Is this sufficient to move Carpenter to the DL?
http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/new...s_stl&c_id=stl
Chris Carpenter returned to St. Louis on Tuesday to undergo a new series of tests after weakness in his right shoulder and neck resurfaced during the right-hander's session of catch on Monday. This latest interruption of his spring throwing program leaves Carpenter set to begin the season on the disabled list.
