Re: What is your favorite song played at The Stadium?
Since I had the Sunday Plan for all those years prior to cancelling them this winter,
I grew quite fond of hearing the Bobby Darin version of "Sunday In New York" they would always play just prior to the Sunday games.Jimmy G. (Seniority 03/28/1994)

YMCA. That never gets tired or old. In fact they should do it every half inning

If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Tough choices. Gotta like Wooly Bully, I mean who doesn't? Then again, it is hard to beat Enter Sandman when no. 42 comes into the game. In the end, I've got to go with Frank.

I'm not saying it was my favorite, but I'm probably the only person who misses "Cotton Eyed Joe".

Francis Albert, all the way. I'm probably one of the last out of The Stadium on win days

Never get enough of taking it all in....He'll never get another milestone like that one. So what? His whole career is a milestone.

Re: What is your favorite song played at The Stadium?
A few years ago, when the organist was filling time before a day game, I heard him play Frank Zappa's "Peaches En Regalia." That was my absolute favorite.
If you're talking about songs they play regularly at the Stadium now, I'd probably go with "Blitzkrieg Bop" as the best song.
If Mason Williams ever makes the team, I hope they play "Classical Gas" every time he comes to bat.A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.- Barry Manilow

The Frank Sinatra version of "New York, New York". Remember when they played the Liza Minelli version when the team lost? I hated that!

You can't go wrong with "New York, New York" or "Enter Sandman", but any kind of Jay-Z works well too!

Re: What is your favorite song played at The Stadium?
Besides "New York, New York" and "Enter Sandman," I think I'll have to go with Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass's "Zorba the Greek."

Re: What is your favorite song played at The Stadium?
I may never have heard the entire song before. Back in the day, instrumentals were played on AM radio to fill up whatever time they had left before the top of the hour. "Classical Gas" - like "Love Is Blue" a few years earlier - was played practically every hour, but never all the way through.

Re: What is your favorite song played at The Stadium?
There weren't very many, I'd say less than one per year through the 60's that had good runs in the Top 10. I had the 45 for Telstar by the Tornados:
Then 'No Matter What Shape' by the T-Bones--aka the Alka-Seltzer Song
and Herb Alperts's Spanish Flea
Sorry for the thread derail, I went on a nostalgia run here...."Deep to left! Yastrzemski will not get it! It's a home run! A three-run homer by Bucky Dent! And the Yankees now lead by a score of 3-2!" - New York Yankees announcer Bill White (October 2, 1978)
