It is pretty impressive to be a professional turnstile.

Hunter was the target of frequent public criticism in 2011, his first year as a starter. According to football statistics website ProFootballFocus.com, Hunter gave up 11 sacks last year, third most in the league. DeGuglielmo said he can't speak to what happened last year, adding "You'd have to ask Bill Callahan. I think he's in the directory in Dallas."
DeGugliemo's bold statements did not stop with Hunter. He deemed center Nick Mangold smart enough to fly the space shuttle, and said that former second-round pick Vlad Ducasse "is not a bust."

He says he expects the five starters in place from last year to carry over, and he believes that unit has the "makings of the best line in football." And he's not concerned about living up to Callahan, who was well-respected and liked by his players.

"The difference between me and Bill: I have a Super Bowl ring, and he doesn't," said DeGugliemo, who won a Super Bowl XLII ring as the Giants' assistant offensive line coach. "I'm not worried about the ghost of Bill Callahan."

This guy is nuts. I kinda like it.

Nuts is one way of putting it. I think Rex is recruiting people like him.

I took advantage of the discount upstairs for Jet's ST. Call me crazy but the way I look at it, I'm getting a little less screwed.

Tebow is a frigging class act and he has higher ceiling than Sanchez.

    Discuss.

PS: I think it will do him a lot of good to play backup for a full year and fix his mechanics.

Definitely a class act, really good kid and good role model for kids out there. But aside from physical fitness his NFL ceiling potential just isn't there. The guy is definitely a highly motivated athlete but that will only take him so far playing against the kind of talent we have in this league. Sanchez has a higher ceiling by an order of magnitude

In Sanchez' defense, not many QB's have a god playing a hand in the outcome of the end of the game.

Disagree. Tebow's raw but he got a cannon of an arm.

Shorten his windup, improve his accuracy, give him some play time.

He'll be a top 5 QB in 5 years. I just think he needs polish.

Re: 2012 New York Jets Thread

I am willing to bet the bank that Tebow will be starting ahead of Sanchez before the end of the season. Sanchez is not well liked by the fan base and they will be calling for his head after the first incompletion, never mind the first INT.

I'll stop watching if Tebow is starting.

Top 5?! That better be some really good polish.

Seriously. It's what grizy does in here. Why? Not sure. I never understood the point in being a troll.

Re: 2012 New York Jets Thread

Now Holmes has come out saying he really likes Tebow (today's NY Post). Revis is already on that list. Cortland is preparing for an ambush in 2 weeks by the fans. Glad I re-upped my season tickets this year. Gonna be a soap opera like we've never seen before.

He's our #3 in the Hall. Great moment in Jet's history last night. Have to figure they will bring him back during one of the prime time games this year to honor him and retire his number. That will be another great night.
