Do we have any information about Teix and starting to hit earlier in the offseason like last year? Or has he gone back to more weight-lifting earlier and hitting later?

I think he's just always going to be slow start Tex. I think he was more concerned about correcting his LH batting than a slow start.

Why would you want to boo him? I don't think his performance is due to a lack of effort or caring on his part. He plays hard and seems to want to be better. And the guy did hit 39 home runs last year.

Ah...cool. I'm not bullish on the guy at all, but I'd cheer for him as much as any of them...he seems to be a prideful guy and is a professional. I don't boo much at all, but if I were, it'd be for somebody who doesn't seem to care. Tex busts it all the time.

I will cheer for him as long as he is a Yankee, but if he is truly prideful and professional, he came to camp this year in shape and hoping to reverse his very premature decline from one of the elite first basemen in the game to just another player at a position where there are several better power hitters who hit for average as well. The man is a lot younger than ARod. There is no excuse for such a precipitous decline at this stage of his career.

It's risky to evaluate these things as a fan ,because none of us really know, but I never had the sense that Tex wasn't trying nor that he didn't care. Some players just decline faster and at a younger age than others. Personally, I'm not into the booing thing anyway, but particularly when I don't think it's a lack of effort or professionalism. He still hits a lot of home runs and plays a very good first base.

Not that I know of. Has anyone put the shift on him? If not, there certainly would be no reason for him to bunt.

I really have not seen much of ST baseball but the other night I saw him take a pitch away to left field as LHB, that same picth last year would have been rolled over to 2B or poped up in the IF. Only one AB so tough to make inference from it, but it was a an encouraging one as it looked like he was trying to drive the ball the other way.

The fact he hasn't bunted in Spring Training doesn't give me much hope he'll do it during the regular season.

The fact he has been hitting outside pitches to the opposite field from the left side give me lots of happy panda thoughts.
