Re: 2012 New York Giants Thread
I like the gloves that form the logo when you cross your hands. I'm glad they kept things the same, but I did kind of like the larger font NY on the helmet that some early mock ups had.

Re: 2012 New York Giants Thread
Great news....
http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/gia...-stay-the-sameSkiba said that Nike tried to get the Giants to ponder a new red jersey, but Big Blue had no interest in that. The Giants are 1-3 in their current red jerseys, Skiba said, so “it’s kind of bad karma.” The Giants will instead have their traditional white and blue jerseys for 2012, Skiba said, and they will wear their silver road pants all season long.
Those are their plans for 2012, Skiba said, but he hinted that 2013 could very well bring further changes. But Giants fans shouldn’t fear some wild University of Oregon-type ensemble; Skiba quickly added that the team will never forget how “iconic” its current look is.
“2013 might bring some change and it might not, you never know,” Skiba said. think what everybody’s got to realize, too, is our uniform, our symbol is very iconic. The New York Yankees don’t change many times. The Montreal Canadiens don’t change many times. And that’s something we have to think about as well.”
Atleast they arent being bullied into making a change.

So Long, Wosi....You were a great teammate and a good backup DE. He's from that area of Cali I believe so that's a nice homecoming for him. Giants should be fine getting another DE to fill his spot.

There are samples just like this one for every team. Trust me when i say this is conservative compared to some of the other clown costumes the other teams have proposed. Supposedly these are all unofficial but google the team followed by 2012-13 new jersey in images and ones just like the giants will come up. You will not believe what some of the teams' look like.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms the Giants are "exploring" a trade for Bengals WLB Keith Rivers.
NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora adds that a deal could be done by the end of the day. Rivers is no longer in the Bengals' plans after missing time due to plantar fasciitis, a broken jaw, ankle surgery, a severe calf strain, and last year's wrist surgery over the past four seasons. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Rivers will likely cost the Giants a draft pick no higher than the fifth round. He's worth the dice roll at that price. Apr 11 - 11:33 AM

Giants Trade For LB Kieth Rivers
http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2...xt%7CFRONTPAGE
Don't know much about him except he was the #9 overall pick in 2008, and he got lit-up by Hines Ward a few years ago that resulted in a broken jaw. He hasn't played that much since then, but I guess it's an okay trade if he's healthy. We only gave up a 5th round draft pick.

Giants Sign Veteran O-Tackle Sean LockLear

Another low risk, high reward move by Reese & the GMen. He back-up Diehl and push the kid, Brewer“I would like to take the great Di Maggio fishing....They say his father was a fisherman. Maybe he was as poor as we are and would understand.”

Giants Sign CB Antwuan Molden
http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...w_england.html
Good signing. He's a good CB who can also play safety.
Man, it has been a busy off season for Reese and the GMen. They sign Bennett at TE, Rivers at LB, Molden at CB, Locklear at OT, Horton and Brown at S, keeping Tyron and Coe at CB as well.. and even Marshall at DE for competition.
They've added depth in the key positions and it sets them up for getting the best players available in draft without the pressure of having to draft guys purely out of need. I can see us picking a WR, RB, or DE in the first 3-4 rounds.
Well done Reese! Now it's on to the OTA's and then the draft!“I would like to take the great Di Maggio fishing....They say his father was a fisherman. Maybe he was as poor as we are and would understand.”

Re: 2012 New York Giants Thread
probably not often as he's pretty bad and hopefully not anything but camp fodder to compete with Coe, Tryon, etc.
I like the Rivers deal though. low risk, potentially good reward.

Re: 2012 New York Giants Thread
The key is obviously Rivers staying healthy, but if he does I wonder who will move to the middle?

Re: 2012 New York Giants Thread
Agreed. But I definitely can see Chase in the middle:
Chase Blackburn Is Back!
Chase Blackburn began last season far from the Giants, sitting in his home in Ohio and preparing for life after football.
He won't begin the 2012 season the same way, though. Blackburn re-signed with the Giants on Friday, a source confirmed, inking a one-year $825,000 deal with the only NFL team he has ever played for

Reese making his usual moves, moving in silence and violence. I'm real curious to see what happens in the draft, I think we can pretty much go BPA all the way through.
