Re: The StubHub Thread
I'm kind of bummed I struck out on OD tickets but its a lesson learned for years to come to get em early as possible and forget about it.
Crazy thing is I won a solid bleachers pair on ebay for $150 on wednesday and didnt buy them out of fear of not being able to sell the other single for $75 (dumb move in hindsight). And I could use the money I was gonna spend on one ticket to go to a few on this homestand.
There has to be a ton of Angels fans or tourists in the area because I havent seen this kind of demand for a reg season game at the new stadium yet.Twenty Seven and Counting.

Re: The StubHub Thread
The Stubhub market for tomorrows game was the most ridiculous i ever saw it....I gave up on it when tix reached $80 this afternoon...kinda depressed after I passed up 4 bleacher tix on ebay wed. nite for $96....got 2 in 200 level "SRO" we'll say for $69 per ticket after fees at 3:30 this afternoon and 2 grandstand tix on ebay for $50 each

Re: The StubHub Thread
At 5pm, cheapest is $105 and only 426 tix..so far, it's opposite from last season for last minute buyers..maybe it's the weather..maybe it's the Angels..or maybe just too many non-renewals who went the SH route driving up demand
either way, so far it helps STHs like myself who bought extras at PS to subsidize the weekday games

Re: The StubHub Thread
With seven minutes left to cut-off, there are only 60 tickets left for today's game on StubHub. Lowest price is $70.

Re: The StubHub Thread
Only 45 left at cut-off. I watched one guy desperately slashing prices on three seats in GS 409, row 8. He went from $83 to 79 to 71 to 69 to 66 in less than two minutes but ended up stuck with them. That's a shame.

Re: The StubHub Thread
11 hrs. and 30 min. before cutoff, still 2400 tickets left for tonight, cheapest is $13. Sold my 2 outfield GS yesterday at 3:30 PM for $15 each and am fine with it. Tonight's game is by far the least desirable of the three April Angels games and I think we'll see the prices start dropping by early afternoon.

Re: The StubHub Thread
And here's the reason I dropped my Sunday plan in sec 229, row 16, for $80 apiece.
Front row available for $55 for the very first Sunday game.
To say I feel totally validated in my decision doesn't even begin to describe it!!

Re: The StubHub Thread
Opening Day notwithstanding, it is going to be a buyer's market all season long. As of right now, here are the number of available tickets for some select games on StubHub:
Fri 6/8 Mets - 10,049
Sat 6/9 Mets - 11,083
Sun 6/10 Mets - 9216
Fri 7/27 Sox - 9805
Sat 7/28 Sox - 9725
Sun 7/29 Sox - 11,093
Mon 8/13 Rangers - 9387
Tue 8/14 Rangers - 9597
Wed 8/15 Rangers - 8755
Thu 8/16 Rangers - 8038
Fri 8/17 Sox - 11,496
Sat 8/18 Sox - 11,324
Sun 8/19 Sox - 11, 600
Mon 10/1 Sox - 9624
Tue 10/2 Sox - 10,144
Wed 10/3 Sox - 9816
Keeping in mind that there are other ticket outlets as well so a lot of these games probably have 15,000+ unsold tickets in the secondary market and that doesn't count the unsold tickets in the primary market. I just checked TM for the 8/17 Sox game - tickets all over the stadium are available. There are 139 seats available in sec. 233A for example. Unheard of in '09 or '10.
Edit: If you want to see what has happened to the Yankee season ticket base, take a look at TM for a mid-week game. I chose the Twins game coming up on Tuesday and if I didn't know better, I'd think they were showing me the Oakland Coliseum instead of Yankee Stadium given all the available seats.

Re: The StubHub Thread
As of right now, row 6 available for $50, and someone still has those row 3 tickets holding stubbornly at $80. I have to think that might be someone who's going to the game and just seeing if they can find someone who'll overpay for them. Why else would you sit back and watch your whole section get sold from under you if you were serious about selling them.
Edit: For that $80 I would've spent, I could scoop up sec 224 row 6, or JB-317, row 5 right now if I wanted to.Last edited by StingrayJG; 04-15-12 at 03:54 PM. Reason: Had to point out further price ridiculousness

Re: The StubHub Thread
Those JBS row 5 seats include my old season tickets, seats 9 and 10. The others, seats 11 and 12 belonged to another guy that I know who also threw them back after the '10 season. I'd wager the Yankees posted those. I doubt they ever sold them to some other sucker. I noticed that they were posted a lot last year too.

At the closing bell....
saw Delta Suite 221A going for $120
Jim Beam 319 going for $65
...and those stubborn 229's were still there for $80.
I think there were about 420 tickets left. Tried to refresh one last time and get a screenshot but it closed on me.Jimmy G. (Seniority 03/28/1994)

Re: The StubHub Thread
What I do when I'm trying to see what is left at the very end before cutoff is to have two browser windows open to the same page and then alternate between them to refresh. As soon as one of them shows 0 tickets left (cutoff), I've still got the other as the just-before-cutoff snapshot.

Re: The StubHub Thread
Seems like the deals were better mid-afternoon than right at the end.
