A declining A-Rod still makes the team a lot better.

Re: 2012 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
ARod is definitely nowhere near what he once was, and his contract is obscene for his current level of production, but it is clear that he still makes a difference in our offense, which has been pretty inept since his injury. It would help if Girardi would stop batting the human strikeout machine leadoff.

Re: 2012 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread

I didn't think humans could strikeout as much as Granderson...... I love the guy. He gives it 100%, 100% of the time. He's got a GREAT personality.
But I really think he's going to price himself out fo the Yankees' plans.
With the year he's having, he's not worth the big money he's going to ask for.
Alex definitely lengthens the lineup to force Girardi to bat guys like Granderson lower in the order.Welcome to NYYFans, the place where Yankees fans come together to complain about the manner in which our team is winning games.

Re: 2012 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
We'll have a better idea after Sunday:
http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/...k_nyy&c_id=nyyAlex Rodriguez is scheduled to undergo more X-rays on his fractured left hand on Sunday, likely giving the Yankees a better idea of when the third baseman can return from the 15-day disabled list, on which he was placed on July 25.
Rodriguez underwent X-rays on Tuesday that showed progress, allowing him to begin strengthening exercises. If Sunday's X-rays show similar progress, Rodriguez could begin swinging a bat. Thus far, he has been limited to running and throwing a football or baseball to maintain his arm strength.

Re: 2012 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2012/09/07/postgame-notes-6/Rodriguez’s home run was his first since the day before he broke his hand in Seattle. It was also his 300th as a Yankee. “I had no idea I had 300,” Rodriguez said. “But the only numbers we’re worried about right now are W’s. Whatever you’re going to do for the year is already done. Numbers are done, stats are done, we are worried about one thing and that’s winning games. That makes it a lot of fun. So a lot of good things happened today.”

In the six games since he's been back:
7 for 23, with two doubles and two HRs - .304/ .320/ .652/ .972
I'd take that the rest of the way.27 World Championships
40 AL Pennants
Liberated France Twice

Re: 2012 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
I'd hope so.
It is amazing the difference he makes for our club, even when he isnt on a good run of form. As fans its a comfort having him on deck, so I'd imagine that the players feel that even more so."Owning the Yankees," Steinbrenner once said, "is like owning the Mona Lisa."

Re: 2012 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
Actually, after the first two games at least, he has hit the ball better than his line indicates, with a lot of loud outs and near misses.

Re: 2012 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
Wonder why he's still not running well. Seems like he's running worse than before the hand fracture
Hopefully he'll keep bombing- the HR trot isn't very taxingGreetings from Pensacola- highest per capita tattooed grandmothers in the US
