Is there a Kim Jones replacement?
If they announced it, I missed it..

Re: Lou Piniella to join YES Network
Lou should be entertaining. He was a fun player to watch....kind of a right-hand version of Paul O'Neill - very intense, put out 100% all the time, had a lot of timely big hits.
Let the kids play.

Re: Lou Piniella to join YES Network
Loved Lou as a player, but I don't think his talents are well suited for this position.
There is skill involved and to me he comes across as boringGreetings from Pensacola- highest per capita tattooed grandmothers in the US

Re: Lou Piniella to join YES Network
I didn't know people actually cared about the announcers who they were/what they said till I started posting on forums.
When I watch games I personally could care less who is announcing.
But I could see how some people do care.

Re: Lou Piniella to join YES Network
One thing I really liked was Lou would stop talking as the pitch was delivered to see if a play would develop. I bet that was driving MK crazy. I am sure YES will train him to ignore the game like all the other commentators tend to do.

Re: Lou Piniella to join YES Network
I thought Lou Piniella's greatest moment as a Yankee was when he tried to beat up the San Diego Chicken. They should bring the Chicken to Old Timer's Day and try to recreate the magic.
Rocking that "arrogant Yankee fan" attitude.

Re: Lou Piniella to join YES Network
I liked the part about him having Paul wear high heels to work on his hitting....
Still think he's a net negative
To me, Cone is the best balance between game analysis and locker room stories
I think insight should be valued over shtick.
Chris Collingworth is an example of the type of insight that makes him one of the best sportscasters out thereGreetings from Pensacola- highest per capita tattooed grandmothers in the US

Re: Lou Piniella to join YES Network
Oneill & Pinella were ok last night, once theyve done a few games together it should get interesting.
