Re: 2012 Derek Jeter Performance Thread
It's a shame he has to travel over the next few day. It would behoove him and the team to just take 4 days completely off.

Re: 2012 Derek Jeter Performance Thread
no lol but I saw after the last grounder where he only slightly bobbled it and didn't get the guy out which was ruled an infield hit that he seemed to be shaking his head and looking at the ground..i was waiting for "this effing infield" to be mumbled but it was Jeter, he didn't do it.

Chipper Jones on Jeter:
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/ba...icle-1.1111011“I had a lot of animosity toward DJ early on in my career,” Atlanta’s Chipper Jones said. “He beat me in two World Series and I didn’t know him. I sat across the field from him so many times, saw all the accolades he was getting and was a little green with envy. Then I got a chance to play with him (at the 2006 World Baseball Classic) in the clubhouse, in the dugout, off the field at dinner. This is the best dude I have ever met. This guy deserves everything.”

Pretty sure that depends on quantity and quality.
And financial situation.

Re: 2012 Derek Jeter Performance Thread
Really? I've either not noticed it, or it's become more frequent and that has just caused me to notice it. Seriously, it seems like every time he digs in at the plate or they pan to him before or after a play in the field he's coughing.
Have no idea if that is having an effect or not, or if it's new or not.

Re: 2012 Derek Jeter Performance Thread
On the pre-game show, Meredith Marakovitz mentioned that Derek Jeter gave the family of NJ native Mike Trout (who idolized Jeter as a kid) tickets in his personal suite for tonight's game.
Classy move by the Captain.
Of course, I hope the Trout family gets to watch an Angels' loss from those seats.
