speaking of the salary cap, according to Shefter, the NFL just took away $10M and $36M in cap space from the Cowboys and Redskins, respectively, because of how they loaded contracts to the uncapped year when they were told not to.

every other team outside of the Saints and Raiders will now get an extra $1.6M in space this season because of it too.

Sweet, not often Giant & Eagle fans can find common ground but I'm guessing both fan bases are happy with this.

$36mil. taken away from the Redskins. That's painful. After signing RG3 they won't have any space for any FA's.

Looks like Peyton Manning won't take his talents to South Beach after that trade.

It seems that Peyton Manning wasn't all that interested in playing with Marshall, so maybe this only increases their chances of landing him.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the Dolphins shipping out Marshall.

With the $$ that Garcon and Colston got, Wes Welker must be wild. Any chance he won't sign the franchise tender and make the Pats pony up?

They can refuse to sign the tender, but then they're stuck in limbo- can't sign somewhere else either.

I was shocked too. I thought a major contender like the New England Patriots would've been all over Mario Williams.

NE didn't have the cap space. I love my Bills and am excited about the move. Not saying we're going to the SB, but it's nice to be taken seriously for once.

The Dolphins are a mess with a bad GM and a rich owner blind to that fact.
