Re: 2012 Raul Ibanez Performance Thread
At what point does the opposition just stop pitching to him?
Since Sept 22nd vs Oak, Ibanez is 21 for 50 with 7 HR. Just unbelievable.

Re: 2012 Raul Ibanez Performance Thread
What is it now? The top 6 or 7 hits this entire year? All by Ibanez.
HR against OAK
Walk off single against OAK (I think that was OAK)
HR against Boston
HR against Baltimore
HR later that night against Baltimore
HR against Detroit

Re: 2012 Raul Ibanez Performance Thread
So this is where it gets interesting... whether the Yanks advance or not, prediction on how the Yankees negotiate with Ibanez the FA this offseason? Thanks and good luck elsewhere? Or do the try to get him on another 1 year, incentive laden deal? Would Ibanez go for that after what he's done the last 10 games or so?

Re: 2012 Raul Ibanez Performance Thread
Every year some team has to win the World Series and every year somebody has to accept the MVP for it. But nobody, not even Ruth or #44 in '77, has done what Raul did this year.
Thanks, RAUUUUUL for the magic moments for The Ages.
Happy Belated (very belated), Mr C.He'll never get another milestone like that one. So what? His whole career is a milestone.

Re: 2012 Raul Ibanez Performance Thread
I appreciate his season this year, and his playoff performance. He'll be 40 next year and he just doesnt fit in with what I want to see this team do in the offseason.

Re: 2012 Raul Ibanez Performance Thread
Fair point. But would you have him back if he agrees to a 1 year deal regardless of his age? I mean, whats the difference between 39 and 40?
Also, he played way more than expected this year due to injuries to our OF. So that must also be taken into account while evaluating him for next year.Death, Taxes and King Eli under centre

See ya at Old Timers Day
Yo Coffee, awesome picture, but is there anyway you can change Denzel Washington to Raul Ibanez? That's the one thing that would put it over the top.

We'll miss you Raul, thanks for the great memories! (and for proving everyone wrong after that horrible spring training)

Re: 2012 Raul Ibanez Performance Thread
Not sure why Raul passed on the yanks?? Give or take a million dollars, shouldn't matter all that much. He would have made a killing doing commercials, he was popular here. Also him being in such a powerful lineup with that short porch made his HR's look even more tremendous..
I can't see him being more wanted and loved anywhere else, to me this was a foolish move and I really believe that he'll regret not coming back...
