My girlfriend says he looks like Voldemort. Well, this evil wizard is crushing it now that it counts.

How is his batting average higher than his OBP?

He kind of reminds me of Jon Gries (Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite / Laslo from Real Genius).

What he really looks like, however, is one of the few guys on this team that isn't part of the RISP curse.

Sacrifices don't count towards your batting average (they are considered an 0-0), but they do count as an 0-1 when it comes to getting on base. So if you're 1-1 on the season with a sac fly, your BA is 1.000 but your OBP is .500.

Well that's an easy to explain! Voldemort cursed the Orioles last night, slangin' spells like a Slytherin.

Anyway, that 12th inning double was a thing of beauty.

If Ibanez keeps this up (remains to be seen) I will gladly eat my hefty helping of crow right out of my hat!

I thought it went upper tank, but according to Buster Olney it landed in the Suite Level between 2nd/3rd decks.

Either way, it was a heck of a bomb.

    Good, bumped!

Probably gonna be another Bartolo-like year, watching whoever appears the least likely be the most pleasant of surprises. ( I the phillies so wasn't exactly feeling all warm & fuzzy initially...)

Quick -- Soriano & Garcia are toast, beyond toasted!!! FULLY expect them and a few others (let's list more!!) to have 2011 Crawford & AJ years.

I was at work during the game but I just saw the highlight of Ibanez's homer. The ESPN call and the crowd's reaction to the bomb were awesome

I was against the signing but I've been quietly rooting for him since about mid-March, mostly because of the treatment he's received here, and I'm not even talking about the Johnny Damon fetishist who's since been RO'd. I mean, good god, people, stop paying attention to ST stats - be like me and be wrong based on 2011 stats.
