Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
Time for the Yankees to get a second opinion as clearly the doctor looking at his elbow beforehand is having difficulty getting him healthy.
It's all Cashman's fault!

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
If Gardner cannot return before the AS break, 60-day DL may be the option. He was put on the 15-day DL in April.

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
Thank God, the Yankees are sending Gardner to see Kremchek, the Reds doctor, who has a great reputation as well as seeing the doctor that Kremchek worked for early in his career, Andrews.

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
Hard to believe that this injury has lingered for so long. When it first happened, it looked like no big deal and yet Gardner still cannot get healthy enough to play. If it cannot heal in 2 months, is surgery now the realistic approach?

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
Is Kuroda really going to make his next start in Atlanta? Are they really going to take a chance on him running the bases after taking that shot off his ankle on Friday? What could possibly go wrong?

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
Updates on Robertson, Gardner, Pettitte, Kuroda (well, actually, it's a non-update on Gardner):
http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2012/06/1...e-to-continue/• Dave Robertson is scheduled to make his second rehab appearance tomorrow. It may be the last rehab outing he needs. “We’ll make evaluation after Tuesday, and it’s very possible we’ll see him this weekend,” Girardi said.
• Girardi said he has not gotten any sort of report on Brett Gardner, and he said it’s not worth holding your breath. The Yankees aren’t likely to make any sort of announcement about Gardner’s condition until after he’s seen Dr. Kremchek on Thursday. He’s going to see Dr. Andrews first.
• Andy Pettitte has a small bruise on his pitching hand but said he feels fine following last night’s bare-handed play. Pettitte played catch today and said he’s not even slightly worried about being able to throw his bullpen on Wednesday. “I feel good,” Pettitte said. “There’s hardly even any bruising any more. It feels great.”
• Similar story with Hiroki Kuroda, who said he can still feel some soreness after being hit by a comebacker in his left foot, but he threw a bullpen yesterday and felt fine today. “I’m going to do some sprints tomorrow and see how I feel after that,” Kuroda said. “But I don’t feel limited.”
So it sounds as if both Kuroda and Pettitte will make their next starts.

Soriano has a blister on his index finger. Per Girardi's post-game press conference.

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
According to Girardi in the YES postgame show, Soriano has a "little blister" on his finger, which is why he wasn't used tonight. Soriano himself said that he could pitch, but Girardi decided to give it one more day.

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
The way Soriano threw the ball Sunday, it was best to not use him today anyhow.

Re: The Injury Update Thread 2012
Is it just me or does it seem like we only have 4 relievers on this team (Soriano, Wade, Logan, Rapada)? (For the record, Eppley is a garbage-time reliever, so he doesn't count.) Even though our pitchers have pitched into the 7th consistently for the past 2 weeks, it still seems like we're scrambling to find guys to finish games.

Robertson pitched an inning this morning, so hopefully, he feels fine tomorrow and becomes activated on Friday.
