Re: Whitney Houston is dead
I'll never forget her singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl 25. Best rendition EVER. I still get chills anytime I hear it. RIP.

Whitney... We have a problem.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

RIP
She had one of the greatest voices ever, and her rendition of the National Anthem was the best I've ever heard.
I wish she made better choices in her life. 48 is too young. The Bob Loblaw Law Blog

Re: Whitney Houston is dead
How sad yet not surprising, so young and such amazing talent. Yet another tragic tale of how drugs destroy lives. This makes me very sad.
RIP, Whitney. One of the greatest voices ever."There is an enduring tenderness in the love of a mother to a son that transcends all other affections of the heart."

Yes she did.

Extremely sad news. One of my nieces is torn up, since Whitney is her girl. I replied to her that Whitney was everyone's girl back in the days. The pop star had recorded the vocal weeks before in a Los Angeles studio and lip-synched the song at the Super Bowl, but few in the crowd of 73,000 or the 110 million watching at home seemed to notice.
I haven't even gotten over Don Cornelius' death, and now this. What a voice she had.

Re: Whitney Houston is dead
How ironic that her passing comes on the night before the Grammy awards. I remember she opened the Grammy telecast many years ago when she was young and stunning, with that incredible voice and gave an amazing performance of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" that just blew everyone away. What a talent she was!
So sad. I hope she has found peace.

Re: Whitney Houston is dead
Very sad. RIP Ms Houston.
Garth Brooks is the reason for that. The network wasn't gonna run his new video so he wasn't gonna do it. They wanted to get Jon Bon Jovi to pinch hit (he was in attendance) but Garth ended up giving in.
They pre-recorded Whitney's because the Gulf war had just begun and she/everybody wanted it to be "perfect".He'll never get another milestone like that one. So what? His whole career is a milestone.
