Re: Peyton done?
It's really weird.
The situation is the same as a few months ago basically but the thought of Peyton retiring or not worth anything as trade bait didn't even cross my mind.

Re: Peyton done?
I heard about this earlier on WCBS 880 AM...sad news. But also weird was how they were also airing this story about Peyton the pig "rescued" by some college students, now at an animal shelter.

Poor Peyton(s).

Re: Peyton done?
Mike and Mike were saying SF would be a great place for him to end up...but I think they have to give Smith a contract before they would know if Peyton could play....I hope he stays in the AFC if he comes back..

Re: Peyton done?
You're right -- I didn't realize that he wasn't able to be traded until March 13. So, essentially, they'd have to pay the bonus and then make the trade.... Which would be crazy
http://blogs.indystar.com/coltsinsider/No can do. Well, the Colts can, but it would be devastating from a cap standpoint. The only way to trade Manning is to pay the $28 million bonus; unless the March 8 date can be pushed back and that’s up for debate. Trades cannot be made until March 13. If the Colts pay the bonus, then trade Manning, all of his bonuses accelerate against the 2012 cap. That would mean he would count about $38 million. Doesn’t work. Not at all.

Re: Peyton done?
Did anyone else notice that Peyton was not at the game tonight? I'm sure we'll hear a lot about it in the coming days, but I thought that was very interesting.

Re: Peyton done?
I guess it's a no win. If he was up in the box with his family they would talk about his situation. Now he couldn't be seen (who knows how far back those owner boxes go?) it's a distraction too. I'm 99% sure he was in the building and rooting on his little brother.

Re: Peyton done?
Peyton was there. he just didn't sit with the rest of the Manning family out of superstition and NBC didn't find him.

Re: Peyton done?
he sat separately in Arizona as well, but FOX found him and showed him repeatedly.
he also went into the Giants locker room after that game and didn't after this one.
