Re: 2012 CC Sabathia performance thread
He threw 89 strikes. The previous time he threw 90 or more strikes was September 26, 2006. The previous time a Yankee threw 90 or more strikes was when Pavano did it on May 17, 2005. Four players from that game also played in yesterday's game, Jeter, Cano, Suzuki, and Ibanez, with Suzuki and Ibanez playing for Seattle then.

Yanks best FA signing ever? He's been money for 4 years now when typically long term contracts to pitchers rarely work out well.
Great job tonight“He's a clown. Guy says he's from the 209, what the ................ is that?

Maybe that DL stint was a blessing in disguise. CC looked fresh last night.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“CC is a bad ass, write that down,’’ Nick Swisher said of the Yankees’ ace, who went 82/3 innings, giving up two runs and eight hits.

Re: 2012 CC Sabathia performance thread
Yeah, 82/3 = 27 1/3. I read that on the SAT (which may have changed since then) they only gave you four spots including spaces and computation symbols. If the answer was 8 2/3 (which would take more spots than you had available) and you filled in 82/3 you got it wrong. You needed to express 8 2/3 as the improper fraction 26/3.

This is only the third time since 1918 that a guy named EvanJ made a post that didn't include obscure baseball statistics and/or trivia.

I'm not sure whether you're taking a shot or not, but I like EvanJ's "weird" stats and trivia.
he adds more to the board than people who argue we should not be pretending CC's an ace (whatever that is).
