Re: Fantasy Baseball General Discussion 2012
Was just offered Pedroia and Pena for Kershaw? Standard catagories 12 team keeper.
I really don't want to give up Kershaw but I also have Strausberg as a keeper that can anchor my staff for the next few years.
My 2b right now is Zobrist. The other team really wants Kershaw and has been offering my trades for him all season. His best player is Tulo...what do you guys think? My ss is Jeter btw.

Re: Fantasy Baseball General Discussion 2012
Yikes. Separate players in my league just gave up on SS JJ Hardy and 2B Rickie Weeks.
I know they're struggling, but there are two big upgrades on my SS Erick Aybar and 2B Jemile Weeks. Hopefully my claim is the only one for those two. Unfortunately I've been really active on the waiver wire, so my waiver order is last...
I'd be giving up on SB's, but my offense has been really bad this season in multiple categories, so I have to bite that bullet, I think.

I have to think Hector Santiago (7+ ERA) is not long for the closer role in Chicago. If anyone dropped Thornton (0.93) or Reed (0.00), now would be the time for speculative adds on either one of those if you need saves.

And Mike Trout by the Angels.
Of course, I hit my transaction limit for the week about 5 minutes before I heard Trout was being called up. Hopefully he's still a FA on Monday haha.

Does anyone know how bad Daniel Hudson's shoulder is? I was offered Hudson for Moustakas. I have Reynolds to start at third, so it could be a win for me assuming Reynolds wakes up sometime and Hudson comes back healthy sometime soon.

Re: Fantasy Baseball General Discussion 2012
Taking a chance on Alvarez since he is on fire. I'm hoping last year is behind him and he becomes what he was supposed to become.
Bench player for now, but I need a corner infielder to back up Morneau if his injury is going to linger. Alvarez is the best upside option on the wire as far as I can see. I hope I just caught lightning in a bottle. I put in the claim a few days ago and he's hit 2 home runs since. My priority was 6, the first thing I did this morning was check the overnight results.NYYFans Fantasy Baseball

Re: Fantasy Baseball General Discussion 2012
My biggest regret so far this season was passing on Matt Cain when I had the chance to grab him in a good round, and in another league at a good price. Ugh. I had a feeling but at the time in either draft it just didn't go with my plan.

I was watching the braves game the other day vs. the pirates and saw how good Alvarez looks this season as compared to last. Traded from him at the start of last season (gave up Tim Hudson) and he sucked all season before I eventually dropped him 3/4th of the way through the year; wish I would've held on to him now because he looks like he is figuring things out.NYYFANS.com Fantasy Baseball: Carolina Force

Re: Fantasy Baseball General Discussion 2012
same here, I figured Cain might fall back to me in the 2nd round in our draft, he didn't. To make it worse, both the position players I took in front of him (Tulo, Gonzalez) have been very average (if not below) so far this year for the rounds I selected both of them in.

Unless you really need pitching....I'd say hold onto Moustakas.
Personally I don't like Reynolds as a fantasy player and value Moustakas more anyways so if I was in your shoes...I'd dangle Reynolds around the league for a SP (not Hudson) and see what I could get in return.NYYFANS.com Fantasy Baseball: Carolina Force

Re: Fantasy Baseball General Discussion 2012
You all laughed when I took Miggy over Pujols!

I knew Cain wasn't coming to me in this league here. Everyone jumped on pitching so fast as usual so I loaded up on offense. I just wish they'd all get going. And Choo and Upton are really pissing me off with their nagging in and out of the lineup crap.

What I do when I can't decide is ask who is getting the best player in the deal. Obviously the Votto side is.
However, without doing that I say that side wins anyway, it was pretty obvious to me.
I need to ask myself, year after year, why do I bother with Marmol?NYYFans Fantasy Baseball

Re: Fantasy Baseball General Discussion 2012
I'm loving Bedard's Ks & ERA this year as a later round pitching flier in 2 leagues. Be nice if t he Pirates scored a few more runs when he pitches. At least they managed to scrape out a few today if the Pirate pen can hold on.
