I saw a PBS special the other day, and now I want to read Absalom, Absalom by Faulkner. That isn't going to happen any time soon, though. Reviews say it's difficult, and I have too much reading to do for my grad classes right now. No non-school reading.

Like several others here, I'm presently a bit more than halfway through 11/22/63. I have never read a Stephen King novel before as his genre doesn't normally interest me but the premise of this book was intriguing. The book is excellent; hard to put down.

I've tried The Hobbit and the first Lord of the Rings book about 50 times, but I just can't get into them at all. I agree.

Glad to hear that 11/22/63 is good. That idea intrigued me when I first heard about it, and now that I've heard the comments here I'll definitely check it out at some point.

LotR is the best fiction I've ever read. Narnia a close second. The Hobbit is not as good, although I do like it.
