Re: The Official What Are You Reading In 2012?
I'm going to try to expand my horizon and read more non-fiction this year. I'm going to start with "How Do You Kill 11 Million People?: Why the Truth Matters More Than You Think" by Andy Andrews and "The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why It Matters, and What You Can Do To Get More of It" by Kelly McGonigal

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I ended up where I need to be.

Re: The Official What Are You Reading In 2012?
I saw a PBS special the other day, and now I want to read Absalom, Absalom by Faulkner. That isn't going to happen any time soon, though. Reviews say it's difficult, and I have too much reading to do for my grad classes right now. No non-school reading.

Reading the Steve Jobs book on the Kindle I got for Christmas. Very interesting.

I finished The Art of Fielding. Glad that I stuck with it. Turned out to be a really, really good book.

There's something about Tolkien's writing that puts me to sleep. I should be able to fly through the 300 page Hobbit, but I find I can only read 9-10 pages before falling asleep.

Re: The Official What Are You Reading In 2012?
Like several others here, I'm presently a bit more than halfway through 11/22/63. I have never read a Stephen King novel before as his genre doesn't normally interest me but the premise of this book was intriguing. The book is excellent; hard to put down.

Re: The Official What Are You Reading In 2012?
I've tried The Hobbit and the first Lord of the Rings book about 50 times, but I just can't get into them at all. I agree.
Glad to hear that 11/22/63 is good. That idea intrigued me when I first heard about it, and now that I've heard the comments here I'll definitely check it out at some point.-Kevin

Re: The Official What Are You Reading In 2012?
I'm reading the English Chinese bilingual version of "Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell. I love the movie, so I decide to read the book. I kind of hoping to improve my English Chinese translation skills at the same time.
