Re: The Official What Are You Reading In 2012?
I finished "Swamplandia!" Not too thrilled with it...it was a finalist for the Pulitzer this year I think? Then no fiction entry actually won.
Now, I'm thinking of re-reading "The Mists of Avalon."

I got a Nook Tablet for my birthday. It's so cool.
I'm reading David McCollough's "The Great Bridge" about the building of the Brooklyn Bridge. That man can make any subject interesting.

If that's all you need, nothing.
Basically it opens up the ability to utilize the literally hundreds of thousands of apps available to Android. It turns your ereader into a full-featured tablet.

There are tutorials to walk you through the dual-boot process, or you can just buy a $35 microSD card with Android already on it.27 World Championships

There are two options-- one is rooting, which will completely replace the Nook software. The other is dual-booting, where you load Android onto the card, and choose to boot it or the original Nook software.

Cool. I'll check it out later. Might be useful for when I travel.

A friend recommended Murakami. Just finished Norwegian Wood, which I liked, and started The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I ended up where I need to be.

Re: The Official What Are You Reading In 2012?
Any relation to Benicio? KIDDING!
I'm most of the way through "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness. I want to like it a lot, and the story is great. But it's getting too long/draggy and apparently it's the first in a planned trilogy? Don't know if I will want to continue unless there is a great cliffhanger at the end.
And I wanted to read "The Mists of Avalon" again but could not find my copy. So I go to order it on Amazon, thinking I was requesting the same trade paperback format I already thought I had--nice and big--for $24.99. No, idiot me somehow ordered a British mass-market printing. Ugh. Too small/for too much money! But also too much of a hassle to return.
