2012 Breakout Prospects
I believe the last two years I did this, here's last years thread if you're interested to see how you did. http://forums.nyyfans.com/showthread...kout-Prospects
I did horrible. I think I might of cursed them even as everyone I picked either did horrible or got hurt. BUT meh, I'll keep mine to five this year to try to keep the damage down.
Gary Sanchez, a no brainer for me and probably most of you. I know he's considered to be a top prospect right now, but I have a feeling this year he'll be healthy and motivated and will put up monster numbers to claim either the #1 or #2 spot on the Yankees ranking lists next year and will be considered a bonifide top 20 prospect in the game.
Angelo Gumbs, I have no idea why but I really like this kid and think he'll be a very useful player, not a star but an above average player. I'm hoping he starts out with the Riverdogs and finishes strong in Tampa in 2012. Looking for a lot of steals too, 45+
Bryan Mitchell, had him last year and he did alright but looking for even better things in 2012.
Matt Duran, I'm going to predict a year of the bats in 2012. Where a lot of the hitters outshine the pitchers. Can't wait to see how Duran's power translates for the SI Yankees.
Jake Cave, Expecting a Mason Williams-like year from Cave.

Re: 2012 Breakout Prospects
Here's mine:
Gary Sanchez- had a nice run towards the end of the year and after a somewhat disappointing year should and some maturity issues should be more properly motivated.
David Adams- health is the only thing stopping him. Get him on the field and he could quickly become the best high level bat we have with Montero in the majors.
Mark Montgomery- Had a great year, but I think he flies up the system this year. Has David Robertson like upside.
Daniel Camarena- Should impress in limited time in the low levels. Good stuff already and makeup beyond his years.
Nik Turley- Started a breakout campaign last year I think he continues it and moves up to AA before seasons end.
Caleb Cotham- Finally got on the field last year and was striking out a ton in the lower levels. If healthy he should have a nice year in the long season leagues.
