Went to last nights game and I gotta say I like the park...yeah the neon walls take some getting used to, but considering the previous stadium to watch games(Sunlife/ProPlayer) was horrible to watch baseball in, this is a 1000% improvement.

Marlins hit 2 homeruns last night, so got to see the monstrosity in all its glory. That thing is friggin huge, TV/videos/pictures do not do it justice. They also fired it up one more time after the final out of the win.

Had great seats, with a nice view of the Miami skyline. The drive royally sucked though. all in all I give the stadium thumbs up, even though my retinas were probably burned looking at those neon green walls.

I did pre-paid parking, which guarantees you a spot in the parking garage. I paid $10. Someone told me it is now $15. Well worth it to do the pre-paid parking rather than someones yard(yea no way I was leaving my car in someones yard).

ETA:The parking attendants use these handheld scanners to read a barcode for your parking printout. They attempted to read mine 10 times from 3 different scanners before it finally read. They than told me someone already checked in with it(which is crap, it probably logged in on one of the attempted reads). When I entered the stadium, it took 2 different scanners 5 attempts to read my ticket. Their scanners suck.

For some reason, that version looks like a college uni - maybe it's because "Miami" is on the shirt instead of Marlins.

True, kind of like the Rangers having "TEXAS" on their home jerseys.

Ahhhh..... now I understand the fruity candy cane logo. It was a marketing scam to be able to sell 15 different colored jerseys. Brilliant.

Nice try by Stanton. last week he took out a section of the scoreboard. Last night he hit a HR that hit The Monstrocity™ . Sadly he did not hit it hard enough

The ball lands out there and the Marlins announcer says "Light it up!".

I can't wait until the end of the year to see Upton and Stanton's tape measure shots fill the top ten.

$5 would be a bargain. And I bet there's a "WB Mason" commercial that runs before the game starts.

    hahahahahahaha

Marlins are DESPERATE - of all the games in the year, wouldn't you think that Opening Day would be the one guaranteed sellout and you'd get a premium for it? Even when the Expos were averaging 10,000 fans a season, opening day was a guaranteed sell out. Not only can the Marlins not get a premium price, but they can't sell out, and they're having to heavily discount on groupon, AND they're throwing in another free game....

And the stadium only holds 37,000.

Opening Day attendance last year was 34,439. They never drew as many as 30,000 - or even 29,000 - for the rest of the season. To be fair, though, they never drew fewer than 13,000, either, no matter how hard they tried.

I guess I wasn't paying attention because I missed it last year. Apparently they had a groupon in 2013 for OD and threw in a 2-for-1 coupon for a future game. I guess that's not enough this year because now they're throwing in an extra game free and clear. I guess eventually when you buy the $13 opening day groupon they'll also be throwing in free season tickets and batting practice on the field. Maybe that should be good for at least 15,000 fans on OD?
