Bobby V's Impact on the Yankees/Red Sox Rivalry
Now that Bobby V is the new manager of the Red Sox, do you see the rivalry increasing/decreasing/no change? Any opinions?

Re: So does have Bobby V on the Red Sox change the rivalry?
No.
...but it will be interesting to see how Bobby talks about A-Rod now. Bobby basically jizzes his pants when he's around A-Rod for some reason.

It definitely adds some juice. The New York media will be all over this and Bobby V will provide plenty of material. It should be highly entertaining for the fans, especially when it blows up spectacularly like I think it will.
I don't think the Yankees players care, of course."Baseball is about hope, not confidence." -- rajah

He'll definitely play to the rivalry in his public comments, something that probably helped make him attractive to Lucchino.

Bobby V. is a fun and capable manager, and will make for some interesting baseball. Very few could take over the Red Sox at this point. I wish him well, personally, although I hope the Sox lose 90 games.
may you live in interesting times!

Re: Bobby V's Impact on the Yankees/Red Sox Rivalry
The rivalry will be same as, for now.
Big bonus for the Yankees again will be the focus of the non NYC media shifting to Boston with the expectation of them going out to dominate all comers, and we all know how that went last year!
If he sticks the job in Boston then the rivalry could well develop but only time will tell. Our goal never changes and we will be ready for whatever they throw at us.'Keep your mouth shut and play baseball!', Tony Lazzeri.
On the drive for 28!

Will probably be interesting due to V having a bigger mouth than Tito...... :-)
