Top 10 Yankee 3B
Who are your Top 10 All-Time Yankee 3Bs in order? Here's mine:
Graig Nettles
Home Run Baker
Red Rolfe
Bobby Brown
Andy Carey
Wade Boggs
Clete Boyer
Mike Pagliarulo
Fritz Maisel
Joe Dugan

Maisel played just five years as a Yankee and hit .242 with six homers - in five years. Are you kidding? Or have we run out of choices?

Back to back years of 74 and 51 SBs, and the small field of candidates, got Maisel on my list.

Boggs did act like a child - but, he hit .302-.342-.324-.311 and .292 in his 5 years in NY - played OK at 3B too.Originally posted by KLJ

Did your data not list Gil McDougald as a 3B?? He played there quite a bit and was clearly better than Andy Carey and Bobby Brown, imo.....probably should be in the middle of the pack somewhere. Regards

Gil, who I understand lives in Spring Lake, NJ, played 599 @ 2B, 508 @ 3B and 284 @ SS. Since it was almost 100 more @ 2B, that's how I think of him.

Gil McDougald was, interestingly enough, never the same hitter after he bounced a liner off Herb Score's eye. Check the stats.
Gil has also been deaf for a long time. I wonder why.
