Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
I just came from the movies and they were advertising Yankee partial season plans there... have they advertised in theaters in the past and I just don't remember or is that another sign of desperation and needing to branch out their advertising? It was a kids movie too- The Lorax

Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
The fan (even those that would consider themselves upper middle class) have been priced out. A weekend game plan, even in the upper deck, still will run you a ton if you factor in parking , food and beverage. A weekend game commitment to regular season baseball now costs as much if not more then a family vacation for a week in the summer.
The days of a father taking his kid to several Saturday games is over. For many its one or two games a year, because even if you can swing the cash, it is obnoxious to keep paying $30 to park, etc. I know it sounds easy to back food from home, but part of the fun when you take a kid to the game (to the kid) is getting a hot dog and an ice cream and a soda and that can run you $20 right there per game

Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
Even in this economy, most fans will pay it. BUT, they're not going to do that for 81 games, and not for 40 games, and probably not even for more 5 games a season anymore. Baseball is an everyday sport, used to be a cheap place to go enjoy the game. Now it's like walking off the bus in Tijuana except here the cheap crap costs you a mortgage payment

Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
I just think we're lucky to have a bunch of minor league/independent teams around the tri-state area... at least we're able to take kids to multiple games on the weekend there for ~$20 a piece, including food. And to be quite honest, minor league games are more fun than major league games, at least for little kids.

The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
What will be nice is you figure Pettitte will be pitching for one or more of those 3 affiliates listed at some point. Even if tickets go for triple, it's still less than a major league game.... in way better seats.

Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
I just noticed something the new pricing this year. On the Main level, they are pricing the first base side as a more valuable seat. Tickets in 205-209 are $5 more expensive than the same tickets across the park in 231-234

Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
Hi Guys,
Just decided to jump back in after being away for a few months. I did NOT renew my Saturday+ Plan for 2012 (Sec. 419, Row 12). Two main reasons: First and foremost, we are relocating to the Baltimore-DC area in June. But beyond that, with the price increase, the extra weekday game, and the high price of parking, it just became financially irresponsible. Especially when you consider that tickets for so many games are available at face value (or less) on StubHub.
Will still be posting here throughout the season, and will always be a Yankee fan, even in Orioles country.

Re: Are you Renewing for 2012?
Why cry? Because HV is a Tampa Bay affiliate? By the time the players in Short Season A makes the majors, they can be on a completely different team anyway. Plus it's way easier for me to get to Wappingers than SI so when the Yanks play HV on the road, I'm there. And besides, it's fun to go to a game no matter what team it's for.
