How's the feeling? Confident or Cautious?
I am always cautious, having witnessed too many first and second round losses in my (almost) 4 decades of Yankee fan-dom. But after last night, I am feeling good with Nova on the mound in Game 5. I know that anything can happen, but I like our chances.
I am ready for NUMBER 28!!!

Re: How's the feeling? Confident or Cautious?
I really like the Yanks chances but you just never know when a player like Miggy or V-mart will go crazy and win the game by themselves or when a pitcher like Fister decides to throw the game of his life as shut the Yanks down.
These are two fairly evenly matched teams overall but I have to say that the Yanks being home, having hit Fister well in game 1.15 and the Tiger pen seemingly in shambles right now gives a clear edge to the Yanks in this one game.Baseball is life;
the rest is just details.

Yanks have a well rested pen. Don't need Nova to be spectacular, just get us through 5 with a lead.

Cautiously confident, haha.
I just have this feeling that Nova is going to be this wrecking ball of a postseason starter a la El Duque.

The Yankees worked very hard to win 97 games for this #1 seed in the American League playoffs.
My feeling: Just be prepared everyday.It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.
Every year is The Year. Go Yankees.

I think Nova is confident and I think the hitters are confident. That makes me confident.

I always feel confident when it comes to the Yankees. Always.

Re: How's the feeling? Confident or Cautious?
on paper it all seems to line up in our favor: pitching matchup, O coming alive in time, a rod seeming to shake some rust off, jorge getting it done and montero off the shelf, tex numbers vs fister, NYY numbers in general vs fister, phil throwing gas, very well-rested pen and general sense that -- having won game 4, and the way we won game 4, i would really be shocked if we lost this one. not overconfident or any hubris to piss off the baseball gods, but i feel pretty good about the game. we just need nova to be good, and there's no reason to think he'll suddenly crack tomorrow. "cautiously yet solidly optimistic."

Excited..our team gets to play in an all or nothing game at Yankee Stadium. We have a good team and they have a good club..whoever wins deserves to advance.

I heard them say on MLB Network that the home team has lost six of the last seven Games Five in division series play. For what that's worth.
