Pink Floyd ---- THE WALL ---- at the stadium 2012
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...diums-20110928
Pink Floyd played live versions of The Wall in 1980 and 1981, and Roger Waters spent the last year reviving it – but it's always been an indoor show.
"We're going to be projecting over 140 yards," he says.
"We've done light tests and Fenway Park and Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium just to see what the ambient light is like
And it's fine. It works. We've taken part of the Wall and the projectors into those three places."
we want to base the tour around Saturday nights in baseball stadiums.
When the American tour ends next summer, Waters will have been on the road for nearly two years. "They're trying to get me back to Europe next year," says Waters. "But I think I'll be completely cooked by the end of July next year."
looks like July 4th weekend is open when the Yanks are away and the following Tuesday is the All Star Game
and obviously it won't be just one night. the first night covers all costs, the second night is the gravy.

I didnt see it when it played the NYC arenas last year
but I did see David Gilmour and Pink Floyd at old Yankee Stadium back in '94

this will be worth a cheap grandstand seat because you dont have to be close to enjoy the visuals.
I think tickets will go onsale sooner than later, certainly before xmas.
how that works out with pre-sales, I don't know.

No, if it does happen the tickets will go on sale AFTER 2012 renewals/new business. You want to give the STH something for staying on/joining. McCartney tickets went on sale pretty close to the schedule dates so it's possible for it to come together in a short time.
Why force people to use holiday $$ for something that would happen 7 months down the road? I saw Roger Waters on LI on his most recent tour and I would see him again

Roger Waters The Wall -- Yankee Stadium July 6
Roger Waters' "The Wall" Tour Expected To Feature Stadium Dates
By Don Muret Unofficial dates for Roger Waters’ '12 tour of “The Wall” appeared online over the weekend, leading to speculation that the route will be made official this week. Concert promoter Live Nation has scheduled press conferences tomorrow at Citizens Bank Park and Wrigley Field to announce major concerts at those two MLB facilities. No further information was disclosed. According to one online forum published Saturday in STLToday.com, the 30-date tour covers six stadiums: AT&T Park in San Francisco (May 11), Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (May 19), Wrigley Field (June 8), Fenway Park (July 1), Yankee Stadium (July 6) and Citizens Bank Park (July 14).
Waters recently told Rolling Stone magazine he planned to bring “The Wall” to bigger venues in North America next year, mentioning Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium and Wrigley Field as three potential stops.

Yankee Stadium is Friday July 6th , with an extra show guaranteed to be added for Saturday July 7th.
tickets for the san francisco show starts at $30 plus fees

Im guessing the YS tickets will start at $40 plus fees for the grandstands behind homeplate
there are only 3 members of THE WALL band left ..... the keyboardist Richard Wright died from cancer 3 years ago
Gilmour can barely stand Waters and wont tour with him but gives his blessing for this tour as Gilmour makes big $$$ on the residuals

I saw this show last fall at the Meadowlands indoor arena (forgot the name, where the Devils used to play). It was awesome. I liked the Dark Side of the Moon show that I saw a few years earllier better though.

keep your dirty feelings deep inside
and if you're taking your girlfriend out tonight
you'd better park the car well out of sight
because if they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks
they're gonna send you back to mother in a cardboard box

Re: Roger Waters The Wall -- Yankee Stadium July 6
anyone wanna buy me a ticket to this show?

ugh.... I love this album so much. Even when grunge took over in the 90s I would always have this in rotation. There was a time I could recite it backwards and forwards. I may have to toss it on soon.NYYFans Fantasy Baseball

Re: Roger Waters The Wall -- Yankee Stadium July 6
I've sucked my kids into Pink Floyd. I feel sort of bad though, they know basically no music record after 2000.
I may have to see if I can take the family to the ATT Park Show though that could get a bit pricey bringing the 5 of us.
My wife saw the original Wall Tour, she'd probably be up for this one.Baseball is life;
the rest is just details.

Re: Roger Waters The Wall -- Yankee Stadium July 6
Why feel bad? Most of everything is crap.
The only bands I have really truly followed after the 90s were those bands still putting out albums after the 90s. Very few new bands (formed within the last decade) I have gotten into.
I tried with my older daughter to do the same but once Beiber came out that was it for her. i still have my twins who are 5 and very impressionable. Problem is mom is a Dead Head/Beatles maniac and and dad is a grunge/metal/alternative guy. So they will either be very confused, or very open minded. I'm hoping the latter. I love the Beatles but I cannot stand the Dead but I'm trying to keep my mouth shut.NYYFans Fantasy Baseball

Day after day
love turns grey
like the skin of a dying man.
Night after night,
we pretend its all right
but I have grown older
and you have grown colder
and nothing is very much fun
any more.
And I.... can.... feel.....
one of my turns coming on.
I feel cold as a razor blade,
tight as a tourniquet,
dry as a funeral drum.NYYFans Fantasy Baseball

Get ready for a heavy dose of Roger Waters' anti-Israel politics if you go to this show.

Roger Waters The Wall at YS on July 6

Re: Roger Waters The Wall at YS on July 6
http://forums.nyyfans.com/showthread...e-stadium-2012
at this point Id rather see this in Fenway ... The Wall at the Wall
maybe not as good as when Waters did it in Berlin in 1989,
but Fenway might only have one show on Sunday July 1st, its possible Fenway could also get a July 4th show,
but the Yanks play there on the 6th, so they would be squeezing it to get the field back in shape in less than 48 hours.
YS will most definitely get a second show on Saturday the 7th.
the question is will there be a pre-sale for the second show or will they put the second show onsale January 30th tooLast edited by 4trainEddie; 01-18-12 at 03:12 PM.

If you have an AmEx card, just check here on Monday:

Interesting how AmEx gets dibs over any Yankee STH.
