It's my understanding that he's in line to make 1.5 million next year.

They probably didn't want to pay a guy who will be in the minors next year that.

Whose going to sign him? They can probably just sign him to a much less expensive MiLB deal if they think he has any shot to develop.

To be fair to Brackman, however...the org. messed with his mechanics a LOT. He was at his best when he used his college delivery.

That's why I'm a little surprised they released him. He was back to his old mechanics at the end of the year and his performance was improving.

I am not a Brackman fan at all but I still think it's too early to give up on him as a reliever.

Brackman's mechanics were an issue before he even pitched for the Yankees. he sucked because he never got his stuff back after TJS, thats all there is to it

I think the group is a little bigger than just those 4 guys, you just described the majority of the minor leagues

Well obviously it is bigger than just 4 players. Those ones headline that group though.

It probably is, but they may be weighing the time it will take to get him to be a reliable reliever and cost vs. the other arms they have in the system. We also don't his feelings on starting vs. relieving, or if he and Boras would rather have him become an FA rather than stay with the Yankees -- there are probably less competitive systems where he might get more of an opportunity.

Thats what I have to figure cause if he doesn't make it out of ST he'll have to go through waivers. Come back as a ST invitee and try to work your way on the team in ST. He'll have to wait until after the rule 5 draft tho.

Re-signing quintana and romanski seems reasonable to me. My wish list is Tony Abreu, Jeremy Sowers and JR Towles. I think signing Preston Mattingly would be cool too, but nothing more than a PR move.
