Re: Official NHL Thread: 2011-2012 Season
Goodness, just saw the Pitts-Philly score.
Even if you put a team of All Time greats, all in their primes. You should never have a series with this many goals in it.

I'm guessing Rinaldo will wind up with a $2500 fine.

New Jersey Devils G Martin Brodeur has rewritten the history books again.
Brodeur recorded his 24th NHL playoff shutout as the Devils even their series with the Florida Panthers 2-2 with a 4-0 romp in Game 4.
Brodeur surpassed Patrick Roy as the leader in NHL playoff shutouts.
Travis Zajac added a goal and assist with Zach Parise also scoring a goal and delivering five hits. It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.

Re: Official NHL Thread: 2011-2012 Season
Wow! Another OT period in the Coyotes-Blackhawks series.
Phoenix had a 2-0 lead in the third period thanks to goals from Shane Doan and Taylor Pyatt.
But Chicago answered with Brendan Morrison and Michael Frolik, who scored at 18:34 in the third.
The 'Yotes won Games 1 and 3 in OT while the 'Hawks won Game 2 in OT. Who will win Game 4 in OT?It's not the 27 World Championships that drive the New York Yankees. It's the 28th.

Cross-check a Penguin and then punch him in the face while he is on the ice in an attempt to "take matters into his own hands" and later admit that Penguin did nothing to warrant the attack = $0

Re: Official NHL Thread: 2011-2012 Season
I certainly have no love lost for the Pens....but Rinaldo not getting anything is the definition of ridiculous.
Rinaldo is a thug and should be joining Torres on the unemployment line. Even Flyers fans that I know hate Rinaldo. He isnt a hockey player...he's just a goon.

The players have lost respect to each other............in the40`s ,50`s, 60`s ,70`s and 80`s you never saw shots to the head.......it was a code.......maybe the helmet changed things ....I don`t pretend to know...........but today`s game is out of control .......yeah yeah I know ...players are bigger and faster but the hip check is a lost art..........it`s all to the brain bucket......so sad

Re: Official NHL Thread: 2011-2012 Season
Talked to my Uncle last night whom played for 9 years in the NHL in the 60`s..............he`s totally disgusted with the disrespect players have for each other. In his day it was a brotherhood and most had second jobs after the season.......you had families to take of and when the season was over they were all friends............yeah I know ....6 team league.....everyone knew each other or were related...............as a fan for over 45 years I`m not happy where this is going......till they bury one of these guys I fear nothing will change.
