Swisher has been dreadful from the left side. It was time to light a fire under his ass.

Because Swisher's always been so lackadaisical. Just doesn't seem to give a crap.

What was the corresponding roster move to make room for him?

He's a guy who had a pretty decent two years as a part time player with the Reds until a pretty poor 2010. Good speed, supposedly decent OF. Has some patience at the plate with a little pop. Not a 0, and probably would be a competent 4th/5th OF.

He was decent with the Reds, dreadful with the Brewers. Though in fairness to him he was apparently injured most of his time with teh Crew.

gold's post is spot on about him probably being a decent 4th/5th OF type.

Swisher is out due to illness, not because the Yanks are trying to send a message

He was batting .248 at Scranton. Don't see how this will be any help to the offense.

First AB and it involves bunting over Brett Gardner. This team is bad like that.

    You're welcome!

He did a decent job in ST; I'd love to see him to so well that he's kept in the lineup.....for at least a little while

    Re: Chris Dickerson performance thread

Looks like he may have some power if he connects. He hit 2 balls deep one was off the end of the bat the other was off his fists. It would be nice to get something back for having to watch Mitre the past few seasons.
