Hanley Ramirez could be the next player traded, Rosenthal reports. The Marlins tried to send the third baseman to Boston last week and they’re still open to moving him.

A fluffy question was posed to Lester: had he and Ramirez, back when they were in the minors, perhaps gone out for a pizza one night and talked about someday playing in the All-Star Game?

"I'd have a better chance of being struck by lightning than me and him getting a pizza together," Lester said. "You can take that for what it's worth. But there was no chance on God's green earth that I was getting a pizza with him."

That Crawford was valued for the same virtually nothing, and that he is owed $20m anually for the better part of the next decade, and needs TJ surgery. Other than that, things are going great.

Well, players with no-trade clauses aren't going to waive them to go to a non-contender.

Let me elaborate on my prior statement. You see, the Red Sox have already won a couple of games in a row. The team has been struggling so far this year, but injuries are the reason this was the case. The same team last year, from May to August, was the best team in baseball, so for those who think this Sox team cannot go on a run, you all are sadly mistaken. Beckett and Lester are not going to be bad all year. The Sox have the 2nd lowest bullpen ERA in the majors. When a scrub like Cody Ross can slug well over .500, you know that just about anyone they put out there, is going to mash. My fear has always been a healthy RS team, and unfortunately, my fear has come to fruition.

The trade I am hoping for, that would put the exclamation point on 2012, would be to trade Beckett to the Indians for Brent Lillibridge. This would be a fitting tribute for a team/Bridge to nowhere.

How does one team even manage to have so many unlikable players? It's not even a rivalry thing, these guys (Ortiz/Lackey/Pedroia/Beckett) are such utter tools when it comes to dealing with the media. I laughed at the Valentine signing, but he's such a perfect fit.

I see you didn't mention the "cheerful Cody Ross" and the "friendly Mike Aviles". By Lucchino even saying that he knows most of them are jerks. To me, that franchise has allowed a lot of that to go on dating back to special circumstances for Pedro and Manny and it fed from there...now Beckett and Lackey were just always insufferable on their previous teams as well...

This is so true. It's amazing they have so many fans IMO - with so many unlikeable, surly, whining players.

I see you didn't mention the "cheerful Cody Ross" and the "friendly Mike Aviles". By Lucchino even saying that he knows most of them are jerks. To me, that franchise has allowed a lot of that to go on dating back to special circumstances for Pedro and Manny and it fed from there...now Beckett and Lackey were just always insufferable on their previous teams as well...

The thing is, it's not just in the clubhouse anymore. Watch this weekend, and see how many 2 or 3 pitch at bats they have, it's like watching the KC Royals up there hacking away and getting themselves out.

That will change this weekend ... they'll all muscle up and play like supermen, and the games will take four and a half hours.

It will be another series win for the Yankees and I don't expect to enjoy much of it at all. I've come to hate watching these two teams play.
