Re: The Red Sox Thread (New and Improved)
Today Wakefield will get his third no decision in his last four starts and it's his fifth consecutive failed attempt at 200 wins. His last win was July 24. Kansas City has scored 6 in the sixth and is still batting to take a 7-4 lead. Matt Albers got 1 out and allowed three to five runs depending on inherited runners on three hits and two walks,

Re: The Red Sox Thread (New and Improved)
Matt Albers decided to pitch like Matt Albers (again). Why hasn't he done that more often?

Re: The Red Sox Thread (New and Improved)
Give Albers enough innings and he'll start to fold like a cheap camera.

Re: The Red Sox Thread (New and Improved)
The division could certainly be decided in the next week or so, with the Sox facing the Rangers for 3 more, A's, Yanks, and Rangers again.
With the line-up they are thowing out there every night, they'll be lucky to be within 5 games. With a 7.5 game lead in the WC, I'm still not counting Tampa out by any stetch.

Re: The Red Sox Thread (New and Improved)
Actually, a friend and I had been talking about exactly the same thing over the weekend and it appeared to be a common sentiment among the more rational (and perhaps more pessimistic) Sox fans I talked to. Tito was forced to shove out his patented Sunday lineups for like 4 games in a row and it was absolutely awful. Getting Ortiz and Ellsbury back has temporarily saved us. I still don't expect it last very long. Let's be serious, what are the Sox chances of taking 3-4 @ Texas where they always struggle? With today's pitching matchup? What are your chances of losing 3-4 at home to the ................ing A's? I fully expect to be tied at the end of today and I'll just be happy we didn't fall further behind while the PawSox were trotting out a better lineup than the big club.

I think it's either......
I don't know sh#t about them.
or
I shouldn't sh*t around them.
Either was, I'm glad to have been wrong about them, for at least a couple games. Like BC said, there's a ways to go still. We may be forced to play a DH on Saturday due to the Hurricane on Sunday, and then 6 more tough games after that.
