    Re: The Red Sox Thread

Beckett got shelled, 7 (so far) ER in 2 1/3 innings, Bobby V actually got cheered for a change when he took a pitcher out. On a side note, Ford must be thrilled with all the extra advertising they're getting w/ the "Ford call to the bullpen" sponsorship so far this year.

This is the exact kind of ................ I'm talking about. Why the ................ are you going to waste Atchison, who has already been overworked as of late, in a 5 run game in the 6th? This just doesn't make any sense.

I'll bet it's the most interesting thing happening in Fenway this year, and from what I've seen so far I'd feel the same way even if I despised Pink Floyd.

With the exception of 1999, I don't think they were much of a factor from 1997 through 2002.

I'd suggest that New Bedford probably isn't the safest place for him to be tonight.

Even as a Yankees' fan, reading "Nick Punto pinch hit for Marlon Byrd" in the play-by-play is pretty depressing.

I laughed at Aaron Cook. And Vincente Padilla. And Darnell McDonald pitching.

Already with the bags on the heads. Glorious.

As for Little Nicky Punto, I believe he's PH'd a bit this season. Makes me giggle every time.

19-37 in their last 56 games. Only the Twins at 14-42 have been worse since the beginning of September last year.

MLB Network just showed when he left the mound very early in tonight's game to a rain of boos from the fans, and he seemed to smirk just a little as he started toward the dugout.

Isn't Punto the guy who blamed the crowd (too loud) for getting picked off third base in the ALDS a few years ago? He'll fit right in with Bobby V's 3-ring circus.

Delicious. Josh should just go all in and call for a presser at Bethpage, slam some beers at the podium with a bucket of KFC on display, and announce his retirement to pursue a career in professional video-gaming.

Seemed like he sat in the dugout for a long time after they took him out also

"But Beckett defended himself for playing golf two days before he missed a start last week.

"I spend my off-days the way I want to spend them," Beckett said. "My off-day is my off-day."
