Re: The Red Sox Thread
"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston."

Re: The Red Sox Thread
Five game losing streak since that idiot opened his mouth (they had won three straight before that). I'd like to call it karma, but that would be an excuse for the terrible pitching staff.

Tyler Kepner
@TylerKepner Weak post-game showing by Red Sox. No Ortiz, Pedroia, Gonzalez. Leaving Albers, Salty, Aviles to explain that loss is poor leadership.

Re: The Red Sox Thread
we were watching it live and couldn't believe they brought that up during the toast. Millar is so dumb, he's doing a toast and doesn't say "cheers" so people know to drink -- he said drink in there and then yelled at people to Drink when they didn't know he was done yammering for a second...so embarrassing - this guy is supposed to be objective now working for MLB and he brings up karim garcia during the toast? what a douche.
btw - thought the ceremony started out okay but would have liked to hear the cheers and saw more names under as people walked out. was surprised no jd drew, trot nixon, bill mueller, bellhorn, schilling, etc. and i was expecting more of a speech or presentation on the field or something - not just reading a bunch of field of dreams quotes. could have been great but meh.
btw - nice move Henry and lucchino - say you invite everyone who wore the uniform and leave off McCarver who is broadcasting your game the next day.

Re: The Red Sox Thread
he really can't - made me laugh. He had the sad bobby face on from the swisher grand slam on.
I watched our postgame so i missed MLB's coverage but this will be the first time i watch Baseball tonight this year (don't like their mlb coverage)...it's on at 9:30 on espn 2 - guess they couldn't find a high school football game to air.

Meeting over. Cherington said he is "very satisfied" with Valentine. "He's doing the best he can with the roster he has."

Re: The Red Sox Thread
Late in the game, after yet another pitching change and berating from the crowd, I almost started to feel sorry for Bobby.
Then I came to my senses.

oops..couple of people posted before I got this in..this comment is regarding the Papelbon and Ortiz gif."Being the captain of the team, he always is there for us, and I appreciate that. He's my friend, my teammate and I love him." ~ Mariano Rivera about Derek Jeter.
