Are we ever going to see the real Melo this season, or (gulp) is this the real Melo?

    Numbers don't lie.

Lin's scoring, assists and FG% were all much lower on the road.

Shortened season, maybe. I refuse to believe that Melo can be so average so quickly.

We won't see the real Melo until next year. Don't be surprise if you hear about some injury that didn't heal, when the season ends.

Figures. Other than 2 games, doesn't look like the same player on the road.

Amar'e has back problems again. He's going for an MRI.

This has me wondering maybe he looked awful for most of the year because he tried to protect the back?
He's gone full out over the last couple of weeks, and now the back problems have crept back.

Whatever it is, this ain't good.

Too bad the Knicks wasted their amnesty on Billups.

This is why now, more than ever, we need a voice that can bring unity to the organization. I like Grunwald, as it was his voice that led to the Chandler signing.

But with the cap crunch looming, I'd like to see Mark Warkentien (Donnie's last gift, partially responsible for Lin) granted the organizational-latitude to bring aboard guys like Ed Gregory and Frank Burlison in player-development, value-scouting roles going further.

Knicks say that as of now Amar'e won't need surgery. Baron Davis had a similar injury and couldn't play for nine months

Amar'e MRI buldging disc ..OUT indefinitely.

I don't know if "cursed" is the right word. Amare's health was a "Sword of Damocles" hanging over the Knicks ever since they got him. When you keep playing Russian Roulette sooner or later you'll find the bullet.

Typical Knicks fortunes....everytime things start to look up, something happens to cause everything to crash back down to earth.

The knee was the concern when he signed.

This back stuff game out of nowhere.

And to be fair, his knee has been fine for a few years now.

Only silver lining I can find in STAT's injury is that Trautwig just said "bulging dick".

The back was a problem at the end of last season, and it took him quite a while after the season to rehab from it. Knee issues are one thing, but back issues are a whole different kettle of fish. Speaking from experience, lower back problems are a bitch. I don't know how you deal with that as a professional athlete.

    This franchise is cursed.
Baron had a herniated disc, Isola.

    Amar'e has a bulging disc.

A bulging disk extends outside the space it should normally occupy. The bulge typically affects a large portion of the disk, so it may look a little like a hamburger that's too big for its bun. The part of the disk that's bulging is typically the tough outer layer of cartilage. Usually bulging is considered part of the normal aging process of the disk and is common to see on MRIs of people in almost every age group.

A herniated disk, on the other hand, results when a crack in the tough outer layer of cartilage allows some of the softer inner cartilage to protrude out of the disk. The protrusion of inner cartilage in a herniated disk usually happens in one distinct area of the disk and not along a large component of the disk, which is more typical of a bulging disk. Herniated disks are also called ruptured disks or slipped disks.

Bulging disks are more common. Herniated disks are more likely to cause pain. But many people have bulging disks or herniated disks that cause no pain whatsoever.

The scouting report in this game was to never let Dunleavy alone. Good coaching, Woodson.

Fields has been having trouble closing out on the 3pt line, no? Hasn't that gotten him reprimanded more than once recently?

If its not Jennings, its Dunleavy. I have a feeling I could put on a Bucks jersey and drop 20 on the Knicks right now.

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread

This was bad coaching, there's no way around it. Dunleavy had been shooting like 70% from 3 in their past 5 games or so. There's no excuse to not give him special treatment. Novak only managed to get one shot this game, for example.

It seems like everytime we play the Bucks...there's always one guy who just has an unconscious type performance. Usually its Jennings, Bogut has killed us alot in the past pre-trade, Illysova couldnt be stopped the last game, and tonight its Dunleavy.

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread

I thought Breen's breathless faux-amazement treatment of Dunleavy was even more annoying than Dunleavy.

Fields has no business starting. When will these coaches realize that he's not a 2. Therefore, should not be guarding and cannot anyway, guard 2's?
Move him to the bench where he belongs.
*i know he's not playing the 2 tonight. I mean in future games*

Jeffries and Lin are missed tonight.
Bibby is just awful. Harrellson has not looked good since getting back. Looks inept.

I'm sorry but if Lin doesn't have any break, fracture or damage, why isn't he playing? Being "sore" is not a good excuse. Everyone is "sore" this time of the year.
