Pretty spirited performance but I'm conflicted about winning games right now. Prefer the 8th seed at the end of the day and don't see the 6th happening.

Didnt see the game...but 22/12 for Amare? If he scores and rebounds like that....then you live with his defensive shortcomings.

Well yesterday proved Melo and Amare can coexist when Melo plays PF and Amare plays C.

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread
I definitely think that Stat & Melo playing with each other is an issue.
I still don't believe that it's fixed or even that it will be worked out in the future. They're two good basketball players, so the odds of them "producing" in the same game at some point are good.Mo' Nut: One Smoove Brotha.

My friend with "inside info" is saying the Knicks will be playing game 1 Saturday night, whether it be vs the Bulls or Heat. We'll see if it's true soon.

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread
Miami it is.
Just win one game and I'll be alright.
This feels a lot like the Celtics last year. Everyone talking about the potential for upset, but the reality is the team they're playing swept them in the season series, and could very possibly do so again in the playoffs.
Just win one game...please.Mo' Nut: One Smoove Brotha.

^ They are...

The Knicks are NOT beating the Heat AND the ref/s.
They're just not.
So, I look forward to next year.

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread
My dream scenario would be for the Knicks to come home for Game 6 up 3-2...and see how LeBron handles the rabid MSG crowd and all the pressure. Ah yes...dreams are nice.
Our only chance is to get one of the first two in Miami. The Heat are great frontrunners...when everything is going well for them, they play carefree and they click well. When someone gets in their face a bit and throws some adversity at them, they tighten up. Them winning the first 2 games? Allows them to walk into MSG for Games 3 and 4 with no pressure....they can play loose. If we can get it back to NY 1-1? Then we have a chance to make things a bit interesting.

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread
This will be fun; Melo/James at the heart of it and our guy has something to prove. Stat looks healthy, Tyson will be his unreal self and Shump will defend to within an inch of his life.
Don't expect to win, but they will be happy not to play us for a while when it's over.

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread
This is what I've been thinking all along. We need to make them face pressure and adversity. If you put enough of it on them, they will back down. However, I think their talent will be too much in the end. I just hope it's a fair series with regard to injuries, officiating etc. unlike last year. Not off to a good start with Chandler's flu.

Knicks luck:
Amar'e hurts his back in warmups.
Mr. "Big shot" Billups (made of glass) gets hurt.
Chandler happens to get the flu the day before the playoffs.
What's next, Melo breaks his leg?

Re: The 2011-2012 New York Knicks Thread
I honestly don't like all the "this series is a handful for Miami" stuff, culminating in writers predicting a MIA win in 6 or 7 games.
The Knicks haven't beat the Heat this year. The Heat have the two best players in the series. The Knicks have some advantages, sure, and they certainly have the potential to match up well, but this feels so much like the lead up to the Celtics series last year.
I hope that the potential to hang/beat the Heat in a full series shows itself, but I'm not expecting it, I I don't think it is probable.Mo' Nut: One Smoove Brotha.

I don't think the Knicks have a chance in this series. If they win one game it's an accomplishment.
