RIP Derek Boogaard - seemed like a great guy off the ice with all the charity work he did. Thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.

I hope he didn't kill himself.
They suspect no foul play.
So to me it's either a medical condition (heart related?) or suicide.

I don't even know what to say. This whole situation is so sad.
I don't want to speculate but I completely agree with what slurpee said.
On kreider- The only thing that would shock me is if he went back to BC.
The rangers sent Messier to the WHC's and I'm sure he talked some sense into him.

Re: Lets Go Rangers! 2011-2012 season thread
Yeah, perhaps he over-medicated himself due to head pain. Really is sad, and perhaps speaks to all the fighting these guys do. Hockey is the only sport I think where fighters don't wear any gloves on their hands to soften the blows to the head. Boxing, MMA, and all other fighting sports have it to protect the athlete. However, the truth is that he is a product of the "Canadian Way". They love their hitting and fighting, and thus we still have these issues.

Looks like Rangers Flyers for the 2012 WC.
I just hope the Rangers don't wear those white road jerseys.
Come up with something unique please.

Re: Lets Go Rangers! 2011-2012 season thread
With regards to the Kreider rumors, the gist of what he said is that there is no offer on the table and he's still at BC "as of now," but that also implies his status is open-ended.

Anything else would be better.
Wouldn't mind the 70's jersey (with the Ranger logo)

Or perhaps a modernized version of this

It's not going to be hard to come up with something better than a combination American Gladiator/Bill Cosby sweater.
Edit: love the jersey Cano posted.

Re: Lets Go Rangers! 2011-2012 season thread
At face value, he made as non committal a statement as he could have made but if you read between the lines, hes done a complete 180 from the comments he made regarding his future last week.
In that piece by Gross, he also referenced Matt Keator as his "agent" instead of his "advisor." That could have been an honest mistake but as an NCAA player, he knows (or he should know) the difference between the two.
My prediction still stands, He will sign with the Rangers once an offer is presented to him.

I hate to say it but the best WC jersey has been the Bruins yellow one with the odd shaped B.

Brooks really can be a dick sometimes. The guy isn't even buried yet and he's already leaking this info and insinuating that Boogaard was a addict who OD'd.

Re: Lets Go Rangers! 2011-2012 season thread
I'm completely talking out of my ass here but I had some thoughts on this.
Bad head aches are a bitch. They can drive you insane. I suffer from them a lot. between migraines and sinusitis, one triggers the other for me. Sometimes they work together for the 1-2 punch.
I know what it feels like to rather be dead than feel the pain of a massive head ache. Light, noise, even thinking causes you to puke. I've woken up in the middle of the night feeling like someone just dropped a bowling ball on my head. I've done stupid things to try to subside the pain. For instance taking 2x or 3x the recommended pain med dosage. Because there comes a point that you don't care, you want it gone no matter what the consequence.
I don't know what he was dealing with, I've never had a concussion, but I can imagine it's just as unbearable.
Just a thought since people say there was no foul play, drugs were involved, and suicide was a possibility.NYYFans Fantasy Baseball
