    The Killing on AMC

The Killing is a new show on AMC. I saw the first episode tonight which was two hours long and it is a very good show. It will be one every Sunday night at 10 PM. Has anyone else seen it and,if so, what did you think?

AMC is making some very good shows these days. Too bad they have so many commercials.

    That was really really good.

You know what? When you see what a well written script acted by excellent actors can bring to your entertainment venue, you wonder why we have soooo much CRAP on tv!

    This show is totally awesome.

Cheaper to produce crap and more people watch it because it's mindless. Viscous cycle of horribleness.

I heard it wasn't that good.. i still have it recorded. The main critique was that it dragged on and didn't move very fast.

Same can be said about The Wire's first two hours every year.

It isn't going to move fast. We aren't going to find out who killed Rosie Larsen until the season finale. If you want something that moves fast there are 2 Criminal Minds, 2 Law & Orders and 82 CSI's.

Not only well written and well acted but also well produced. The visual on this show is mind blowing. Also, the characters are not cookie cutter like most "network" shows.

That is what made it so good IMO. Most network shows just breeze past all the details of a situation like this. I enjoyed the fact that we got to see a little about the victim's parents before they were told and the minute details of their reaction after. It is very realistic.

I wasn't looking for the zombie apocolypse to be solved in episode 1, but I felt that The Walking Dead kept the story moving the whole time.

I haven't seen it yet, i'm not critiqing the show (yet). Just passing along what i've heard.

Then the person you heard it from may be more the CSI type.

The fact that it moves slowly is what is so wonderful about it (so far), because it is constantly building tension and leaving you guessing. The tone and pacing of the show is top notch and really sets the show off in the right direction.

Plus one of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is in the cast.

It really sounds like a Wire clone in the detail of the investigation. I'm excited for that if I'm right.

I meant to watch it tonight, but Yankees on ESPN, Rangers on VS and UConn/Butler got inthe way.

I envy you just now watching Mad Men. You are in for a treat.

Also, for anyone who is interested they are re-showing Breaking Bad from the beginning on Wednesday nights late on AMC. Check your local listings to be sure. I have not watched any of BB so I am looking forward to that.
