Loved Arod channeling Nettles on that play to his right. More imp[ressive than getting to the ball was the limber way he popped back up and made a great throw
Barring injury he's gonna have a monster yearGreetings from Pensacola- highest per capita tattooed grandmothers in the US

Re: 2011 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
Last year Long talked about how ARod was a bit reluctant to put weight on his hips.
Now I am assuming that carried, at least somewhat into his defense.
Kevin Long says he hasn't seen ARod swing this well since 2007.
I conclude it's very likely ARod will improve defensively this year too.
All indications are ARod is enroute to another monster season.

I actually do think there is 20~30% chance ARod will win the MVP... yes, better chance than Cano.

Re: 2011 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
For someone who uses a lot of stats to back up his posts, that is a big statement.
I honestly can see a few of these 5 these happening this season for A-Rod
1. He hits 40 homeruns
2. He passes Ken Griffey Jr and Willie Mays on the all time Home Run List.
3. He Passes Lou Gehrig on the all time Grand Slam List
4. He leads the Yankees to the postseason.
5. He wins the MVP
This potentially can be a massive season for Alex. I honestly cannot wait until 6pm today.

It's not just stats.
I am not going to lie, this is a feelings thing.
ARod looks, to me at least, like one of those poker players that's just in the zone and I just know he's gonna be dangerous even if I've never met him before.

Re: 2011 Alex Rodriguez Performance Thread
arod's ability is such that if he's on he's more beast than just about any other player not named barry bonds. this is a case of special talent asserting itself, as fluffy as that may sound.

This is also the best I've seen him moving in the field since he's been a Yankee

That bat flip was awesome.
To this day, the coolest/best homer run reaction I've seen on my life was when he took Joe Nathan deep in game 2 of the 2009 ALDS. One of favorite homers ever.

Huge HR today. 2 doubles and 1 HR in 2 games. He looks great
