I think Rothschild was a fine choice but it's entirely too soon assign him any credit (or blame) for anything that's happened to this point.

Rothschild gets direct credit for helping Hughes re-work his mechanics, and the grip on his curve, which resulted in a much improved performance today.
In general, the 2011 pitching staff has done remarkably well, and in my opinion, it's no longer too early to assign a big share of the credit to the new pitching coach.~John

AJ publicly credited Rothschild and Martin with making him throw his changeup.
That alone is worth Rothschild's paycheck.

They got piles of young pitchers in the system. Let's see how he will do.

To do list for 2012
- Teach Pineda an adequete change up.
- Help Hughes regain his curveball
- Keep the bullpen as productive as last year
- Help Soriano become useful
- Dump Burnett in the Hudson River
