Any interest in Brandon Webb?
What does everyone think of maybe bringing in Brandon Webb on a 1 year deal... maybe $2 Million with a ton of incentive money for innings pitched and performance?

Re: Any interest in Brandon Webb?
Could see us taking a gamble on Webb if we miss out on Lee and Pettitte retires. Don't see it if we get both of those guys, though.

Not at the price he's asking for

Re: Any interest in Brandon Webb?
only way I'd take him is on a minor league contract for depth. He hasn't pitched since 2008, how the hell do you give him a guaranteed contract.
Thanks but no thanks, trade market is better incase we dont land Lee or Pettitte retiresThe real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

Re: Any interest in Brandon Webb?
Wasn't Webb supposed to be back like 5 times last year but kept having setbacks? Not good.

Re: Any interest in Brandon Webb?
yes, at a favorable deal, but if we get lee and andy comes back there really isn't room in the rotation, especially with in-house replacement options like nova. if either of andy or lee doesn't work out then i'd be all for it, but i bet there are other teams willing to pay a little more at this point and would benefit more from the high risk/high reward than the yanks.

Re: Any interest in Brandon Webb?
Only if we don't get Lee or Andy. But should that happen Webb is probably one of the better backup plans particularly on a favorable incentive based deal.

1 year, 1.5 million.... anything more than that is unnecessary.

Re: Any interest in Brandon Webb?
Webb is asking for the kind of money that Rich Harden / Ben Sheets got last winter.
We'd be signing a more expensive version of Wang.

I'm more interested in buying a time machine and get the Brandon Webb before his injury.

Re: Any interest in Brandon Webb?
Webb used to be good, but considering he hasn't pitched in a major league game in 2 years is a red flag. You'd obviously need to have him start a few games in AAA so if he isnt even opening day ready why consider? Where would you put him as a Lee plan B or as a Pettitte replacement?
Said it once and I'll say it again, I'd sign him to a minor league split deal for depth anything else pass. The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes
